FANTASTIC TREX LEG & FOOT  BONES TIBIA, FIBULA, and RARE MIDDLE METATARSAL of FOOT

Species: Tyrannosaurus rex

Species description: One of largest carnivore during dinosaurs age with 12" corner teeth with roots and up to 49 ft long and 15 ft high that lived in western USA – largest in the United States that ever lived and killed and scavenged prey.

Period: Late Cretaceous Period 70-66.5MYA

Geographic strata found: Hell Creek Formation

Geologic location:   Baker, Montana  and Metatarsal -Powder River  , Montana

Description and rating :  Find of the Century – TREX TIBIA(3” )long, FIBULA, and RARE MIDDLE  NARROW METATARSAL.THESE ultra rare bones are top of line  bone quality , huge size and no restoration at all. IT has crack fills but these bones have been part of my collection for at least 7 years. I would say all 3 are perfect. The tibia and fibula are from the same REX , while the metatarsal is hardly ever found as this is the thin one down the middle and is so narrow it never survives  except this one . It takes 2 persons to lift this one so it was difficult to work with as most bones this size has multiple natural breaks. All 3 you can’t say n enough about them . I will not sell these as they are the cornerstone of my collection, and can never replace them even though IM working on a TREX Tibia now I will sell and it’s a great one so ask about it. The bone quality on these is simply amazing. LOOK AT THESE . They are so awesome they literally bring tears to my eyes .

The teeth are really good  as both sabers are original and about 1 ¾ “ which does not sound like a lot but for this species its long. The sabers are 100 % original and one saber has a pathology –wider than other due to some abnormality unknown . The teeth original incude all moars and premolars and all the bigger incisors on the ends on top and bottom . These are rarely found . Super Rare Eusmilus Saber-tooth Cat with Saber

NOT FOR SALE EVER

Species:  Eusmilus olsontau

Species description:   The Nimravid  saber-tooth cat (one of smaller  ones)with razor –sharp sabers and after  Dinictis and Hoplophoneus on geological chart  which is believed to evolve from one line of hoplophoneus saber cat  that roamed North America beginning in the Oligocene Period for only a few million years from 30-27.7 MYA .  These animals had a lot of physical characteristics  similar to Hoplophoneus Sicarius except for size , as  Eusmilus was the genus for that animal until a short time ago .  All these are small saber cats only 5-6 inches long with large sabers and flanges  for the size which makes it look like a barbourfelis and a hoplo except for much smaller size .It had only 26 teeth compared to 44 for most saber cats and it was lacking molar 1 talonoid and premolar 2 on the bottom jaw  . It was bobcat sized  with lynx sized head and was built like Barbourfelis for size (Of course Barbourfelis  is much larger ). Long bodied and short legged compared to others,  and they ate  grazing ungulates including camels  and oreodonts. They could open their jaws at a 90% angle .  Most of the  info on internet is incorrect as below is correct . It did not live 8 million years,  just over 2 and did not have a large species in America at least and one in Europe was bigger  .

Geological strata:  Upper Whitneyan and Early Arikareean Age

Geological Time frame 30-27.7 MYA

Item location : Pennington  County , SD

Item rating and description: 15   Gorgeous  Small Ultra Rare Eusmilus Saber-tooth Cat 5.5”  . This cat is so special I still can’t hardly believe I have one. Only a few in the entire world exist with a few museums in USA and Europe , and only 2 private collections exist as known and I’m one of them . Due to a friend I was able to obtain a dream and this is one of few which actually have a saber anywhere . It has one complete side with some bone missing on top but a beautiful back , and the other side is there –just need to prep it . It has excellent bone quality, and is one of the true Eusmilus  Cats . I’ve been reading about this cat for years, and by the way now that Hoplophoneus Sicarius has been reclassified no large ones exist as the web says in America .  Too many  awesome words can’t fully describe this cat

BEAUTIFUL  ULTRA X RARE Adult Female  HOMOTHERIUM SABER-TOOTH CAT

NOT FOR SALE

Species : HOMOTHERIUM cf.crenatidens

Species description : This cat evolved from Machairodus and appeared at Miocene –Pliocene border about 5 MYA  and lived in Africa  as well as Euroasia and died  out lastly in Asia and North America about 10,000 years ago so it was highly successful. It was a scimitar cat built like a modern lion that had about a 13” skull but much longer teeth called sabers. It was larger than average saber-tooth cat that was very successful yet hardly ever found in fossil records. Complete skeletons have only been found in Texas and of this animal complete skeletons in Asia have never been found  and only a few skulls .The sabers per head size are smaller than  other the big cats. It preyed on wooly mammoths as found out in Texas. IT looks like a megantereon however much shorter sabers and less sized lower saber guard and sabers reached to end of lower jaw as this one does. It reached 1.1 meters at shoulder . As said compared to megantereon, smilodon, and machairodotus its sabers were relatively short but still they are nice sized sabers. It provided a great  puncturing and gripping force . The skull was longer than smilodon. This jaw had down-turned forward flanges to protect the scimitars . It large canine teeth were crenulated and designed for slashing rather than purely stabbing . Some of the physical appearances were unusual for a big cat as it had limbs that gave the homotherium a hyena like appearance. The forelegs were elongated while hind legs were rather squat with feet planti-grade causing back to slope down towards a short tail. It had a large nasal square nasal opening like a cheetah which allowed quicker oxygen intake with brain visual cortex large and allowed it to hunt during the day instead of night like many cats. It lived 5 million years longer than megatereon. It hunted in packs and not only killed mammoths but also rhinoceros juveniles.

Geographical Area:  Pliocene border to end of Pleistocene in America –and Asia. This particular one mid to Late Pliocene   probable   Possible Early Pleistocene

Location: Origin  Unknown

Item description & rating:  14 X- Ultra RARE Beautiful   Adult Female Homotherium   Scimitar Saber-Tooth Cat Skull  13” Long  .  It is  98% original bone and 100 % Teeth original  with one incisor absent but naturally missing as it probably broke off in a kill or fight (Per a noted authority )  The socket was filled with natural bone , and the lower matching tooth was less worn indicating the cat lost it long before it had a chance to wear down the opposing incisor  so the pathology tells a story while this saber-cat was alive  . I have wanted a whole one for years and the opportunity was afforded from a friend who is also the top expert on these creatures , and this will be admired by me& ones who read this  and never sold  . It was originally bought from a German dealer a year ago in USA .  Most homotheriums were about 13-14” long  so this is an adult . This has shorter and wider sabers than a meg,   which extend only down to end of jaw as the megatereon  goes well past the saber guard in size. This is one of most complete skulls you will ever find with lowers from the original upper skull .  Only a number found in Texas cave  and 2 in Florida and a handful in China and Europe .  The great thing about this species it is a form of crenatidens but a different unclassified species  that needs researched even more so we can safely say only a few of this exist  . AS someone who knows a little on cats said the species is close  to be Xenosmulus but different so no species has been classified as of this date   so hopefully  a book could come from this at  later date. Anyway so rare it is not a labeled known species as of yet so  under crenatidans for now . IM molding this one for posterity so anyone looking this get it at Taylor- Made Casts in St Louis.   These saber cats have the upper second premolar missing but upper 3rd premolar reduced and missing in this specimen on both sides .    You’ll love this one as I do if you know cats .

Best Top Of Line Rare Metailurus  Major  Saber-Tooth Cat

NOT FOR SALE

Species: Metailurus  major  saber-tooth cat

Species description:  Sabercat larger than metailurus minor  from genus machairodontine saber-tooth cats that belong to tribe metalurini  that lived in Asia and Europe 15-8 MYA . Known as false saber-cat because it had a cross between long flat saber-teeth and shorter cone-shaped teeth of modern felines and many believed it evolved to modern day cheetah. IT lived earlier than metailurus minor and whilke minor lived 9-6 MYA so it lived longer but much rarer to find .  I’ve only seen 2 of these , while minor are the most common saber –tooth cat. It was closely related to dinofelis . Its canines were slightly larger than dinofelis  and was very stocky in build . Both cats had forearms more heavily built than the hind limbs.

Geological strata:

Geological period: 15-8 MYA

Item location:

Item rating and description: 12 +++++ Fabulous Very  Rare Metailurus  Major Saber-cat From China Over 10” long  5.5” wide with all original Teeth including 2 beautiful sabers(original)2” long  with incisors  and molars . The teeth are really exceptional. The skull is at least 98 % original with canines repaired and crack filled and one inch of back upper tip of lower jaw missing but not restored .. The saber-cat is whole and a beautiful piece in all regards. The color has dark spots and light beige makes this an exceptional cat and zygos are all real. Sources say these cats are impossible to find now but minors are still more common and other saber cats but rare overall as only a few % of fossils found are carnivores. All the back skull parts including condyles are present  while distorted slightly ,and I prepped it myself exposing all skull areas  in its entirety  except for between the zygos where it is too fragile to expose and teeth show up well. However on skulls like this it displays best this way. Since these are so rare and first one I’ve had  if someone doesn’t see the value of this specimen I will keep it as far as my collection which I want to get  all the sabercats in the world within a few years . This is a large major saber- cat .This one will remain in my collection a long time .

Another One-of-A Kind Huge  12 ¾” DIRE WOLF Upper SKULL –Largest WOLF Ever
Species:  Canis dirus

Species description: It was closely related to Grey Wolf in the Pleistocene but actually os not directly related to any living wolf species today The first one was found in Illinois in mid 1800s and none there since .Only Alaska , Florida and of course La Brea  LA  have turned up a few specimens.  This is the largest wolf ever and was a canid.  IT became extinct at the end of late Pleistocene about 10,000 years ago when woolly mammoth also was lost forever  .It was a carnivore with little known except an aggressive meat eater . Fossils are extremely rare. Outside of La Brea few skulls are known and this is only one of 2 ever found in Florida as stated by an expert.

Geological strata:  River deposit

Geological period: Late Pleistocene 30,000 years old

Item location:     Steinhatchee River, Levy County , Florida G

Item rating and description: 14  This One-Of-A Kind  Famous 12 ¾ “  DIRE WOLF UPPER SKULL  with AMAZING TEETH ALL Original  and the rarest item I ever had > Again I can say that  It is so beautiful with excellent bone quality 85 to 90% Original and 100 % teeth original with the one canine measuring 1 ¾ “ l . The teeth are unbelievably good with no repairs or restoration at all .   the left canine is worn in life  , while the other is long and pointed . Many people say they have dire wolf when actually wild dogs or gray or timber wolves , which all existed in Pleistocene . I actually saw one in an auction listed as dire wolf when it was Ided by my expert as Timber or wild dog .   The dire wolf is the largest wolf ever and the only one to reach 12 “ Long at extremes of skull  -this one is 12 ¾ “ and no doubt iot’s a dire just by that alone , and way bigger teeth than other wolves-all of them  . The last true dire wolf skull I saw at actually was 1 year ago and it  sold for $23,000.  Only one other known  Florida Dire wolf upper was found in Florida in 1905, and this one was found a few months ago. The first one is at UF now, so this one is to admire but not buy for you .   I will find lowers as they are found in Florida occasionally . Feast your eyes on this one . Some resto on top of skull over eyes and nose . Back of skull and zygos are almost all original bone.  The dark color is stunning and you can’t take your eyes off this one. Too valuable to sell .. I keep it in my museum   probably forever. This animal was injured in a fight on original sagittal crest which is almost unheard of and it lived a long time.  Probably a male due to size.

The Most BEAUTIFUL, Perfect ,Unusual Fossil  Ever –Ultra Life –Death Struggle of a Ultra RARE  100% Original  MEGANTEREON SABER-TOOTH CAT  w 5 “ Sabers Upper Skull  with Mega Horse

Species : Megantereon inexpectatus and Mega Horse (Sinohippus species )

Species description : This cat evolved into SMILODON in N . America  known from La Brae tar pits in California . It was built like a modern jaguar but heavier, and had the largest sabers per skull and body size than any saber-tooth cat that ever lived including Smilodon. It was larger than average saber-tooth cat that was very successful yet found sparingly in fossil records . IT had stock forelimbs, with lower half lion -sized and large neck muscles designed to deliver a powerful bite. It severed the jugular and windpipe with a quick bite. It was a solitary hunter not like machairodus.  The elongated upper canines were protected by flanges at the mandible. They weighed up to 300lbs. The upper incisors and lower were flattened as they appeared to tear off after much tearing as this animal shows. It was one of the most geographically successful saber-cats of all time and only one full skeleton has been excavated in France.  The Megahorse on Miocene formation  is the largest earlier horse found in fossil records and rare.  This  horse horse looks like a Later Miocene  horses but none this big existed  is so mega Horse

The Mega Horse is 24” Long by 7” Wide  What a story this tells how a saber cat and a horse died together probably due to a tar pit killing as this saber cat had one saber embedded in the Mega Horse. It could have since the lower jaw is missing in obvious super protective soils that the cat bent its lower jaw back too far as it could not handle this animal. What a beautiful Upper Skull and horse . This cat evolved into Smilodon from California Tar pits.  It is actually 100% original bone with  zygos and everything.  It is beautifully prepared by one of countries best preppers,  and bought in USA from him  . This is a once-in-a –lifetime piece and I consider it the nicest fossil anywhere. The sabers are huge, but the cat appears small compared to this huge horse, but it it actually the largest meg you will ever find.  This one bite off more than he could chew for sure . It was obtained many years ago in USA the first time and now by me . Enjoy the pictures. This is a masterpiece that is a work of nature, and you can’t help to wonder how this happened  where  this saber-cat and horse locked in this death struggle  went extinct ½ million years ago in Asia  were it survived last. This is beyond any museum as you can visualize this piece, and few have these saber-cats.  This is an education piece for all  know me to enjoy is reason I’m putting it on the site   . They ate camels , oreodonts, brontotheres ,and horses on the Oligocene fields. It could also dig for roots and tubers. It had an elongated skull with long bony knobs beneath the eyes and on the lower jaws. It also had long spines on its thoracic vertebrae over the shoulders and a small brain,
and often obtained lengths over 7 ‘. Its jaw could snap shut quickly and kill any animal during its time and was highly successful. It hunted in packs and could run off a huge hyaenodon.

Geological strata: Brule Formation Badlands

Geological period: Oligocene Period 33.8-30 MYA

Item location:  Shalimar Ranch , 5 Miles  North of Harrison , Nebraska or 30 Miles S. of Crawford
This land is leased now by Black Hills Institute   for Collecting

Item rating and description: 12 – PROBABLY The BEST TERRIBLE PIG in THE WORLD(18” long by 11” Wide). This specimen has all the original parts plus a few extra . Yeah a few extra canines since this pig was achieving maturity so it was an adult but the juvenile canines are still present on lowers and uppers . This is an early arch which means it has less incisors than the normal 6 as it evolved over millions of years .The teeth are literally perfect –all original with only 2 repaired . The skull I can’t find restore but it was purchased from a famous fossil finder –paleontologist as a 99% Skull  .  Even the backs of the lowers and the back of sagittal crest are real bone which is unheard of .I have never seen one over 90%. This is the famous pig (entelodont) so highly  talked about in the  BBC documentary “ Walking with Prehistoric Beasts” which tape also comes with this specimen . This is simply amazing.  IT is a complete skull with beautiful color, and completeness with extraordinary appeal . It was with the collector for 15 years and it was found by the owner who is a dear friend . The canines are  simply amazing and 3 inches long and all teeth original except for two and so well done I can’t even tell. The cheeks are original also . Its like you found this in a China shop , so smooth and clean it appears perfect . I had to hae a perfect one for my collection .AS you all know I love pigs  as well as  cats , and was so happy to get this one  .They are so rare especially one of this quality . This carnivore was at the top of the food chain and ruled the earth 23 Million years ago for over 10 million years .Yes pigs ruled the earth as every other form of life has at one time , and this was their time. This is a collectors  Dream . Few can be mounted as they are so heavy it takes and firm steel display rest as this one. Not sure what sex due to cheeks not being that big but lower jaw indicates male . Its value in money($18,000plus) can’t match the years of enjoyment I will get from viewing it. It’s just not about the money but the appreciation for these magnificient  beasts .
