Fantastic 100% Original Megantereon Saber Cat (Forerunner to Smilodon) Upper with 4.5" Sabers

NOT FOR SALE

Species: Megantereon inexpectatus

Species description: This cat evolved into SMILODON in N. America known from La Brae tar pits in California. It was built like a modern jaguar but heavier, and had the largest sabers per skull and body size than any saber-tooth cat that ever lived including Smilodon. It was larger than average saber-tooth cat that was very successful yet found sparingly in fossil records. IT had stock forelimbs, with lower half lion-sized and large neck muscles designed to deliver a powerful bite. It severed the jugular and windpipe with a quick bite. It was a solitary hunter not like machairodus. The elongated upper canines were protected by flanges at the mandible. They weighed up to 300lbs. The upper incisors and lower were flattened as they appeared to tear off after much tearing as this animal shows. It was one of the most geographically successful saber-cats of all time and only one full skeleton has been excavated in France.

Geographical Area: Pliocene-mid Pleistocene 4.5 MYA in America - 500,000 yrs ago in China

Item location: Mianchi County of Henan Province, China

Item description & rating: 12 Fantastic RARE Female Megantereon Saber-tooth Cat 9.5" Upper w/ 4.5" Sabers. What a beautiful Upper Skull! This cat evolved into Smilodon from California Tar pits. It is actually 100% original bone with no zygos. It is beautifully prepared by one of countries best preppers. It has slight compression on one side by tectonic forces but does not detract from appearance or value. This piece will be displayed at many events for true appreciation. This is a once-in-a-lifetime piece and the distortion on one side causes slight slanted teeth but 100% real bone is so awesome. The sabers are huge. If you want to talk about it please call 706-235-2694. Available for museums. Words can't describe this skull as it is very fine. It was obtained many years ago and enjoy the pictures. It has remained unprepped for many years This is a masterpiece that is a work of nature, and you can't help to wonder why this saber-cat went extinct ½ million years ago in China were it survived last. This is a museum quality piece, and few have these saber-cats. This is my fourth one this year most obtained in USA many years ago. This is a display education piece.

SUPREME Packy Full Skeleton Mongolian PRENOCEPHALE

Species: Prenocephale (Asian Packycephalosaurus)

Species decription: 8' long maximum packycephhalosaurus  from only Mongolia that was a truly bulbous dome bonehead dinosaur with a row of bony spikes and bumps surrounded the skull. It weighed about 130 kilograms and females – as this one-had smaller thinner skulls than the males. Like other boneheads Prenocephale had large eyes and a keen sense of smell. It lived in upland forests, browsing on leaves and fruits The hard skull denotes head-butting habit between rival males and last member to exist before the extinction event- mostly known from skulls. It is related to the Asian packycephalosaur Homalocephale even though it had a rounded sloping skull while Homalocephale had a flattened wedge-shaped skull.

Geologic strata:  Nemegt Formation

HUGE RARE EINIOSAURUS SKULL w/ 3 (all)HORNS

Species: Einiosaurus (Ceratopsian) Earlier Type of Triceratops

Species description: This is a fairly new discovery in 1985 and is called  buffalo lizard-named in 1995. It is a medium-sized centrosaurine (short-frilled) ceratopsian from the Upper Cretaceous normally found in Canada. . It is a relative of the Triceratops and this is a sub adult animal listed here. It was a herbivore about 20 ft long and was short-frilled dinosaur compared to Triceratops long frilled dinosaur

Item timeframe: It lived from 83 MYA until 71.5 MYA and died before the extinction event.

Geological Formation: Two Medicine Formation

Item location: This one found 2 miles from Canadian border north of Dupuyer, Montana NW Montana Canadian animal before this find.

Item Rating & Description. THIS IS A VERY RARE DINOSAUR SKULL  of a EINIOSARUS. This skull is the complete upper skull with Braincase-which is so great and rare only missing some frill behind dinosaur’s right eye and of course lower jaw which is small anyway. It has no restoration only crack filling and has 23 inch horn which points down like a can-opener and is 44 “ long. It had 2 horns off the frill, and the skull includes the horns and frill section with one of horns being not from this dinosaur (larger) but other one is so it is virtually complete. Retail on this animal complete goes for $50,000 and the top dinosaur hunter that found this has COA and sold other 2 for $60,000 in the ground-complete adult skulls. This comes with pictures, details and was found in a ravine with a herd that died from a sudden flood . It is one of most unusual dinosaurs that ever lived and it was selected for extinction due to the horn pointing down so it could not be used in defense. Few remains have been found of this animal and museums do not have this animal in almost every case so it is one of a kind. Few people have this is private collections also and is 44” long so a sub-adult.  This is an opportunity to get a skull for an economical price and it displays so well on top of a table or any piece of furniture and can be carried. I can’t say enough about this dinosaur and it beyond mere words. All the prep work has been done and is ready when most others are sold while in the ground for exorbitant prices Call for more details on this one.
