Item rating and description : LARGE Top Premium Russian Male  ENTIRE CAVE BEAR SKULL 19.5” With Super Bone Quality. All Teeth with x-Nice Canines are original ,and what a monster at 19.5” long .Russian Cave Bears are no longer found as this species is from a old collection and no more for years have been discovered. It is almost 20”  Long x 10.5” wide x 10” tall .  They used to be found in caves all over Europe, Russia , and Alaska but now only Romania so this very rare . The prices have doubled in the last 2 years , and this one is even better than the last one I had. They go so fast I expect this will be gone in a very short time . The great ones go for 6-8,000 now, and this is every bit as good. The color, no wear on teeth, and natural completeness is really amazing on this  skulls.  I will not come down on this but will offer at low price, just can’t discount. These are such a great investment as the values will keep on rising and soon they will be like so rare only old collections will be sold.  This species is the rarest of the entire lot of cave bears so you will only ever see a few of these ever and they are earlier bears but even larger than European ones.

Rarest Smallest Prehistoric Carnivore (Insectivore) in Extinct Mammal History Leptictis 33.6 MYA (Exact Date)

Species:  Lepticitis species (Probably dakotensis)  This species lived 33.3 MYA to 33.9MYA so in between like the haydeni but to date the haydeni has not been found in Wyoming.

Species description: This was a animal that doesn't exist today and so rare not much is written on it . There were a number of species with 3 main ones

Geological Formation: Brule  Formation

Geological Period:  Latest Oligocene : 33.6 MYA Dated Exactly. Exact stratigraphic layer data can be obtained by contacting Casper College or Tate Museum  and referencing DF number listed - Orellan Stage

Item Location: Douglas, Converse Co. , WY close to Laramie Peak at P. Ranch

Item Description: Ultra Rare Complete Leptictis dakotensis  Insectivore Skull Matrix piece. This is so rare it is the first one I've ever had, and was found and prepped by a noted paleontologist and writer. It is painstakingly prepared, which is a labor of love due to small size. Don't let the size fool you as this creature is so rare and has top notch quality. No restore. All the elements of animal are there except lower jaw and one zygo are in the matrix. I loved the structure and presentation as it died. Even having the zygos which are microscopic almost is a miracle and one is on the animal and one in matrix. It's a small mammal who ate insects that was close to size of a squirrel which were small also. This is the only animal I've ever had that is exactly the time frame known 33.6 million years found above the white ash layer which is technically the Oligocene right after Eocene period 6 million years from Eocene. The teeth, structure, bone quality are the best you will ever see and affordable. This is a valuable piece as they say good things come in small packages. No one can classify this species as it is distinct from all known creatures.
