The Terror of the Plains 30 MYA Extinct Brutal Hyaenodon Carnivore with Beautiful Red-spotted White Color

Species: Hyaenodon Cruentus

Species description: This was the next to largest species in North America  with massive high saggital crest  in back of head, long narrow snout, short neck and long body and tail. It was the top single carnivore although a number of Terrible Pigs could drive one off. It definitely was a carnivore due to teeth formation with crushing bone routine with large canines. This one did hunt in packs  while horridus (Large one  bigger than a small rhino was a loner). Male specimens show grinding marks on their teeth which means tooth-grinding was used as intimidation with animals. This was the king carnivore with saber-cats at this time. It is part of the creodont line that went extinct 20 MYA ago in America but survived well for 20 MYA plus.

Geological strata: Brule Formation

Geological period: Oligocene Period 40 - Early Miocene20 MYA

Item location: Badlands of Western S Dakota

Item rating and description: 12  Very Nice   Rare 85% Original  Second Largest  Oligocene American Carnivore 8.75" Hyaenodon  Skull with excellent bone structure. This was a carnivore and teeth show this. This one the quality is very good with top notch all natural teeth  to this animal  as far I as I can see. Restored areas include sagittal crest in back, part of  both zygomatic arches, and part on  lower lower jaw. The backs of lower jaws are original and entire top area of skull. Its reddish - white color so appearance is unusual which is one of reasons I purchased it . I love these carnivores and with the exception of the terrible pig rank as the most unusual animal that ever lived .I got a good price on this so I'll pass it on to you. For a very nice animal this is the lowest I have ever sold one of these so grab this one up quickly if your economically looking for the best deal for a high quality specimen . Even a highly restored  horridus one I have goes for $2000 so this is quite an offer for these creatures who had strong bone crushing jaws. They killed quickly with one bite, and with just one phone call you can have this one.

Geological strata: Hipparion Fauna

Geological period: 15 -2.5 MYA

Item location: Herzheng County Gansu Providence Red Clay China

Item rating and description: 12 +X-Fine 15" x 6" High Hipparion Juvenile Horse Miocene China Skull. The landscape during the Miocene has had so many unusual animals and this animal was one of larger horses throughout time until the modern horse. This specimen is so nice with about 1% restore and crack fills. The teeth are all present. This was a large horse not too much smaller than today's horse however this is the first juvenile Ive had and this specimen has almost all the facial bone present however back of skull is missing the condyles. There is no distortion at all on this one and a real beauty. It was whole but did break in shipping but reattached professionally so it is great. It is prepped almost all the way including entire eyes and each back skull part removed from matrix. The matrix was really hard and really protected this skull and would be a great addition to a class collection.
