Ultra Rare Miohippus Horse HEAD with Partial Skeleton Almost 100% Original

Species: Miohippus (Small Horse) (Oligocene Horse)

Species description: These horses were small, about the size of a greyhound with a body 4 ft long, 30” high at the shoulder and larger than its predecessor Mesohippus. They were long-legged compared to earlier horses and long necked. They had 3 toes in front and back. These were herbivores that lived from grazing. This animal is very rare compared to other Oligocene animals. They lived in the American West only for 2 million years not like Mesohippus 36-34 MYA. They were food for saber-tooth cats and hyaenodons also. It looked like a modern horse except much smaller.

Geological strata: White River Formation

MOST COMPLETE RAREST OF RARE ADELPHAILURUS kansensis SABER-TOOTH CAT 11” SKULL

Species: Adelphailurus kansensis

Species Description: This is rarest of all sabertooth cats in USA that lived from early Miocene 6-8 MYA and were the size of a modern cougar or puma . Its body also had the same shape as a puma also, and had long compressed upper canine-sabers that hunted small birds and mammals in ambush . This cat is a false saber-tooth cat and had retained a second upper premolar, which is unusual for a cat . It was the second largest of the late Miocene cats and was an Eurasian immigrant. It was a metailurus cat, which besides this species and one other was only found in Asia and a few in Europe. It is not one of the top 6 saber-cats found and has only been found with partials with top of skull never found in USA according to reading all documents . It was identified by Hilbert in 1934 with only a few skull pieces and a few partial bones ever found so this skull is the most complete skull known to exist. A partial humerus, radius, ulna first phalanx and was named after the first skull jaw section found in Kansas. Most of bones found in Arizona in this small area, and one found in Bone Valley, Florida also.

Geological formation: Milk Creek Formation

Geological period: 8-6 MYA Miocene Early Hempghilian Tribe-Metailuri Genus: metailurus

Item Location: Congress Junction, Arizona

Item rating and description: (1-10) 10 AMAZING 11” Long x 7” wide agape Adelpharilurus kansensis saber-tooth cat SKULL-The Most complete ever found . This is an amazing piece as this is the most in one skull of its species ever found as only a few skull fragments exist . IN other words with 3 jaws 3 of 4 molar teeth pairings are original and the back of cat is original plus one original saber plus part of side of upper. The rest is filled in so % is still about 40% original-estimate. This cat is so amazing and so well prepped it’s a treat to look at. Again while not highly original it’s the best ever found so this is for people who want a one of a kind this is it. For your perfectionists which I know some- do not even try to buy this. ULTRA RARE EARLY HOPLOPHONEUS OREODONTIS SKULL

Species: Beautiful Hoplophoneus Saber- Cat Skull

Species description: The long –legged Nimravid saber-tooth cat (one of larger one)with razor –sharp sabers and the second earliest saber-tooth cat that roamed North America beginning in the Oligocene Period 35 MYA -23 MYA . These animals had a lot of physical characteristics similar and exact to Smilodon including famous saber-guards and similar sabers while smaller . They stood at over 2 ft tall the size of a large bobcat, and were more of a group predator with a close knit families as evidenced by some hoplos found together in death while overall very rare species hunting an abundant food supply of grazing ungulates including camels and oreodonts. Using their highly developed saber-teeth they would likely sever the blood supply in the neck of their prey in the initial attack.

Geological strata: LOWER BRULE

Timeframe: 36-32

Item location : Pennington , SD

Item rating and description: 1-10 10 on Rarity Gorgeous 6” Rarer Hoplophoneus Early Cat Skull in Ecellent Shape . Some people say this was combined into priveaveus species but White River Museum says this is actually not primaveus , and is a really rare oreodontis species with one original saber and one cast .This si an old cat and primeavus would be bigger . IT was owned even by Black Hills Museum back in the 70’s and was found in very early rock , which lower Brule is. It has only one premolar restored, some of back side of skull as well as one back of a lower, small part of sgital crest, and part of one cheek as wells 3 incisors restored . All the rest except the one saber is original so 85% original is reasonable to say for this cat. The darker color is very attractive with lines as compared to the white normal color. If you read some articles many scientists have combined this into primaveus but the institute says this is definitely a different very rare species as they have only had a few of these in over 40 years , and its guaranteed a new rare species oreodontis so this can’t be sold –just too valuable . I was told by Pete Larsen –top paleontologiss to hold on to this cat as I may not see another, so the cat man listens.

Very Old (Possibly 100,000 Yr Old-Plus Old Specimen) Large 17” Extinct Barbary Lion

AUCTION-Bound or Less if Bought now below

FULL EARLY SPECIES EXTINCT BARBARY LION –Possible 100,000 Years old (One of a Kind Fossil)

Species : Panthera leo leo early Species-

Species Description: The Barbary lion of North Africa evolved around 100,000 years ago from the African Species of Lion . There was single population of lions across North Africa Middle EAST . Western and Southern Asia ad this species most similarly is more like the Asian Lion . It is the most magnificent of all lions in history as these majestic cats were a massive size bigger than any other lion ,and same size as the American Lion(except not as tall at 3.5 ft) and had the best and biggest mane ever that covered over half the body It roamed over Northern Africa ranging from Atlas Mountain where the later species only dies out in 1921 and in the west Morocco to Nubia. Or Sudan now .The species I have is yet to be found as it was an earlier one but later species were above .It weighed 550-600 average lbs on males, way bigger in length on today’s lion. The manes were on the belly and all around and darker than lions sub-Sahara, which gave it a regal look. These were the ones who fought in the Rome Coliseum with a great mane and the best specimen ever found of an earlier species. It was believed to be 100,000 years ago when first formed due to simple auditory bulba in the ear stated by American Natural History Museum .I believe this animal is one of the most complete skull if not the most complete of one of earlier lions ever found. These had heads 17 inches long like American Lion and this one is no exception at 17”. It differed as having a grayer shaggier coat, plus the skull and facial was unique. Plus inner ear was different. It says it possessed a higher occiput in back of skull plus more rounded cheek bones. These for thousands of years roamed undisturbed in woodlands and mountains plus desert over a vast territory of now days Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, and Sudan today. Their decline started during Roman Empire due to massive use at game

Geographic Period : Pleistocene Epoch

Geographic time: 100,000 -50,000 years ago

Item Location : Northern Africa

Item rating and description: 1-10 *10* WOW Unbelievable Entire Barbary Coast Early Unknown Extinct Lion Huge Skull 17” Long x 9.5” wide. This was thought to be an American Lion, and sent to American Natural History Museum to a paleontologist and due to size and simplier inner ear it was determined to be one of the only known full skull of an Earliest Known Barbary Coast Lions . No other complete skull like this has been found to all knowledge and google checks. Due to dark brown color it may be the oldest species of when it first arrived believed to be found in a cave as the skull is almost perfect. The specimen was bought in Mass. USA in a flea market many years ago so it is so close to an American lion as it wasn’t Ided until sent to museum. It looks so close to me to the American Lion except for slight shape difference as I have one. It is even rarer than the American Lion which I thought was impossible, if it’s a Barbary Coast early species from Pleistocene. This skull is amazing. It was an old animal so old its teeth are worn down in natural life but present. No resto on the skull and complete except for some upper incisors and two lower incisors that I prepped on from a cave lion but even those are real. 4 Bottom incisors are restored. The one side of the upper and lower is missinga back molar but you can tell they fell out in life probably due to fights or dental problems. Remember canines are all there natural just highly worn .The skull is so good it has zygos, condyles, and everything. Also a paleontologist said this was a man-eater or should I say hominid partial apelike creature(possible homo sapiens as they were around at this time ) walking upright due to age of this specimen. Remember Africa had early man way before USA by millions of years. Not only is this upper complete but due to dark brown color it is extremely old. Even American lions aren’t this color unless found in Florida, as Alaska ones never get this dark. No one in the universe has this as it’s the best and most complete of an unknown unnamed species of Barbary Lions if correct .It is worth far more than this as its Pleistocene for sure. No restore, not even touched or doctored or repaired in any way except some incisor teeth added. I’m really speechless on this animal. You can’t even put a price on this as its priceless, but everything is for sale. Simply Awesome and a hominid eater at 99% probablity as once teeth are worn they can’t kill game ,only humans to survive. Anyway it’s once in a lifetime as I have now one of oldest lions of Africa plus one from Europe which is even older. Great Price for a once-in-a lifetime find. An American lion and maybe it is would be at least 80,000 this good. Remember the entire skull except only a few teeth are all 100% natural . At auction I’d have to get more for this specimen. You will save at least 23 % by buying now as this with premium will go for at least 20,000. This specimen was never even broken in 100,000 years possibly.I may have it carbon dated.

Geological strata: Scenic Member of the Brule Formation

Geological Epoch: Early Orellan 34 MYA

Item location : Scenic , Shannon County, SD

Item rating and description: 14 Just a Gorgeous Rarest of Rare Large 90% Plus ORIGINAL Hoplophoneus occidentalis Saber-Cat Skull 8 7/8” Long with 3 3/8 inch sabers . This cat was described by my top prepper as the best one I ever had, as he has done over 10 this year alone for me . This one is a true collector’s DREAM item , and IM a collector so it’s mine and not available for sale . The sabers are so huge I have never seen any hoplo over 3 inches before , however this is a true prize . The first hoplo was primaevus 35 million years ago, and were small at that time only 5-7 inches long at most in the early years , as they did get bigger with time up to 9” long . At 34 million years came a new huge holpo called occidentalis which appeared and evolved from primaevus ,and only lasted for 4 million years on the plains of South Dakota. Some primaevus got this large in latter years, but not at 34 million years I contend as occidentalis species were very rare at this timeframe and smaller . Most people know this occidentalis species at least 10” long ,but I believe these were the later ones at the 32-30 million years old timeframe . This one was very early one and I believe as does 2 of my contemporaries as one of first occidentalis species for sure , however I must say one of my best friends and top authorities believes it to be a hoplo giant primaevus species , whose opinion I respect immensely . However ,below are the reasons . I believe this is a true occidentalis early species . First my friend believes all occis must be 10” long but since I know for a fact this animal is at least 34 million years old (due to how low it was found in the strata which was the first of the occidentalis species due to the timeframe. I believe they were smaller at this time , and the ones he has are later of the species and not as low in the strata . A pogonodon that was found higher by 75 ft higher was small one when it first came 32.5 million years ago and got much bigger , and we found this occi specimen much lower so we know it was at least 34 Million years ago . First of a species always have characteristics of both when the lines evolve from each other which is the case here. Hoplo primaevuses were smaller at this time frame than this specimen from observances by the finder –as many primaevus only 5-7 inches were found by him here , and he knew this was special . This skull is 8.75 “ long, and the largest ever found in this area by far . So all others found at this strata were very small, but this skull is far larger in a very early timeframe for hoplos. . 4 million years made occis only 1-2inches longer as the biggest hoplo that ever existed , and since this is a female they were smaller than males . Many characteristics make me believe this is an occidentalis . In fact, all characteristics to me even size fit occidentalis for this timeframe . First the postglenoid foramen are actually smaller per skull size in occidentalis than primaevus as per Donald Prothero’s Book The Terrestrial Eocene –Oligocene Transition in North America , and this fits this specimen . Next the paraoccipital process at the back of head is reduced in size for occidentalis per skull size ,and it appears for this specimen in comparison of primaevus . How you tell these animals also is look at the saber guard. This specimen has the guards much wider and longer than a normal hoplo due to saber size . Also at the top of saber its almost an inch -15/16” wide , and wide throughout , and reg hoplos are never more than 5/8 inches wide as they are quite –narrow . Many times reg hoplos are under a half inch wide on sabers . Also the Upper Premolar 2 is absent in this species , and reg hoplos its not absent as all I have seen has an upper P 2 including all the ones I have now . This occi does not have P 2 on either side of the upper and the alveolus does not look covered over by bone , as my expert friend suggests may have happened in this case . I have never had one that P2 is absent even though in reg hoplos it can happens as extremely knowledgeable friend suggests .Basically the belief by some is if it’s not 10” long, it’s not an occi. However an update after further review other characteristics that I and my friend believe it to be an occi .The huge curvature of the canine and rounded margins make it an occi I’m using all the other parameters which show occi for me also . The strata of the find suggests differently to me, as it is definitely one of the very early holpos, and it is huge .Since it is one of first for sure of all hoplos(lower strata doesnt contain holpos only dinictises) , I believe it would be smaller than the normal later 10” (1” off) occi specimens. Anyway it could be a tweener in the 2 species , but I believe strongly this is at minimum at least the start to the occi species and now am 99% certain its an occi, even though only a few exist anywhere . Hill City has a definite occidentalis specimen only 5/8 larger than this specimen also . The finder and a top dealer agree with me, but regardless of my claim this is the best hoplo specimen you will ever see anywhere . It is one to be proud of forever . Color, detail, and completeness is above reproach. The white color with lines is usual for these animals , which is how they looked close to death . The upper skull is more than 90% original with super teeth with only a small area of back of skull and lower back jaws restored.. The teeth are almost 100% with just a few incisors restored. This may be one of earliest occidentalis skulls ever found , or at minimum one with mostly occi characteristics except length . I don’t think length should be the overriding characteristic in any assessment. Only a few occidentalis skulls have ever been found anyway over all 4 million years so this could be one-of-a kind which always stumps even the most knowledgeable because it is hard to put in put in either category .It is a female that is very rare .It resembles Smilodon , and is ultra desired . This is the smallest occi possibly ever found but still a huge hoplo , no matter how you look at it . No one can take the beauty of this specimen away no matter what it is, which makes it extremely special for me. This is unheard of and a great rare specimen

One Of Kind -  Super Rare Eusmilus US Saber-tooth Cat with Saber

Species: Eusmilus olsontau

Species description: The Nimravid saber-tooth cat (one of smaller ones)with razor –sharp sabers and after Dinictis and Hoplophoneus on geological chart which is believed to evolve from one line of hoplophoneus saber cat that roamed North America beginning in the Oligocene Period for only a few million years from 30-27.7 MYA . These animals had a lot of physical characteristics similar to Hoplophoneus Sicarius except for size , as Eusmilus was the genus for that animal until a short time ago . All these are small saber cats only 5-6 inches long with large sabers and flanges for the size which makes it look like a barbourfelis and a hoplo except for much smaller size .It had only 26 teeth compared to 44 for most saber cats and it was lacking molar 1 talonoid and premolar 2 on the bottom jaw . It was bobcat sized with lynx sized head and was built like Barbourfelis for size (Of course Barbourfelis is much larger ). Long bodied and short legged compared to others, and they ate grazing ungulates including camels and oreodonts. They could open their jaws at a 90% angle . Most of the info on internet is incorrect as below is correct . It did not live 8 million years, just over 2 and did not have a large species in America at least and one in Europe was bigger .

SPECTACULAR EOCENE “DAWN HORSE” EOHIPPUS SKULL HIGHLY ORIGINAL!!!-AUCTION BOUND

Species: HYRACOTHERIUM or Eohippus (58-51 MYA)

Species description: This horse is so small it barely reached 14” tall (Similar to a small dog). These herbivores lived from grazing on foliage, fruit, herbs and berries. This animal is the rarest of rare compared to other fossils in the world. They had 4 toes front and 3 in back. It looked like a modern horse except much, much smaller. Forefeet and hind feet had pads similar to dogs. It had a short neck, back raised in slight arch and teeth had three incisors, one canine, four premolars, and three grinding molars on each side of the jaw.

Geological strata: Willwood Formation

Geological period: Early Eocene Period 58-51 MYA

Item Location: Close to Powell, Wyoming in 1970’s

Item rating and description: (1-10) 10**Off the Charts AMAZING FIND*** One-of-a Kind Eohippus “Dawn Horse” Skull 7” Long Highly Original. While small, great things come in small packages. This horse is the most sought after herbivore skull due to its improbability of even being found. This excellent condition is just so unbelieveable, it is simply amazing!! While the top is compressed down, the entire top has original bone with only crack fills due the compression. It was unable to be inflated for fear of breaking the skull so I decided not to take a risk with nature’s spectacular splendor. The lower is original except for the incisors - as these are never found – too small and fragile plus the backs. This was so expertly prepared it looks 100% original (and almost is). This period of 50 Million years ago has hardly any material ever uncovered after the dinosaurs when Terror Birds (that are also unbelievably rare) ruled and ate these guys for snacks. This one survived for posterity, so little horsey, you made it through 50 million years. The beauty, detail, and bone quality of this animal, again, is simply fantastic!!! I would say 90% of the skull is original. This starts my horse bonanza as you’ll never see a more astonishing piece! I have almost all that have been found in a line up so amazing. Just one glance and I had to have it as it is so outstanding. No one, except one that I have heard has this. There is nothing like this anywhere in the world. Here it is fossil lovers. The right saber is totally original, and the left mostly original with some repair and restoration. All the molars and premolars on top skull and bottom are original . All incisors except two on bottom are restored which is normal. Some of skull has restoration and repair, however it is mostly original and looks great. While you can find better ones, the price makes this very attractive per quality . It’s so pleasing to see this cat skull. This was the first saber-tooth cat of all time but just did get 5 of them after a long layoff. This skull is a treat and very pleasing in color, form , quality, and size

Item rating and description : 1-10 10 plus. Rare Amazing Massive Huge Panthera Leo Lion)19” x 11” Skull with Papers on Exact Age also which is very valuable. These are so expensive virtually none have this so it’s one-of-a-kind .So you know the largest lion ever found American Lion and cave Lion are same animal from DNA has a 20” skull so this is a male huge Lion. This is very valuable as it shows a tremendous size of the largest cat that ever lived-even larger than a Machairodus saber cat of Eurasia. It’s much bigger than or most any other saber cat. It is also is rarer than Smilodon, and no more caves in Europe exist as no more in future will be found These are so highly prized even if someone has one they would never sell it. So it’s your chance It has only small spot restoration at the back of the zygo arch on 1 side Lower 100% with all teeth real and one molar missing. It is my first full out of country lion even though I have a lower, upper and one from Africa. I have all species of extinct lion except a Russian one. I am probably I am a fool for selling it but my lack of judgement is your gain. You must hold this one in your hand to appreciate this piece. This is so huge and massive you just can’t hardly believe it. The price is way under value.
