Super Rare High-Quality 1806 Napoleonic French Infantry "Briquet" SaberThis sword (saber) was carried by most of the infantry throughout the height of the Napoleon Empire. This is a short saber. It was called that in 1806 which means lighter. This is an original sword so rare that you will be hard pressed to find on like this On-Line. The relicas are extremely expensive as well. It is stamped CA which is the inspector marks. The 23.5 inch blade is of high carbon steel. Horseman found this too short to use. The hilt is made of solid brass and the scabbard is in cow leather. The pommel area is flat and tang is peened. The overall length of the saber is 75 c . It was used on ships for close combat by Napoleon's troops due to its ease of use.
