Economical Nicely Shaped Highback & Huge 30 Million Year Old Land Tortoise - Stylemys

Species: Stylemys

Species description: Word means Pillar mouse but is a Dry Land Tortoise. At one time it was common in the West but went extinct 23 MYA. The ancient tortoises had primitive jaw muscles and forelimbs were unsuitable for digging like modern ones. Many species existed.

Geological strata: White River Formation

Geological period: Oligocene Period 35 - Early Miocene 23 MYA

Item location: Shannon County, South Dakota

Item rating and description: 11 GIANT 24" Long 24" wide Around the Curve Highly Original Oligocene  Stylemys Land Tortoise with Beautiful Light Dark Colors.  The key item here it is that for an turtle animal this size almost the entire animal is original bone with a small amount of restoration but mostly crack fills. A very good turtle this size that has 85% is a super find, and even the under shell is present inits entirety. I have seen quality turtles 85% this size go for $4,000 but this can be yours for a fraction of that price. While not a museum piece due to some rough edges and a few missing shell pieces that has matrix in place, it turned out very well  and gives a person who wants a monster piece for little to nothing. Most of turtles you buy are 80% real turtle and the rest filler painted well. There is no paint at all. I'm also discounting. It has a high arch, which is normal and distinguishes this from the other one I have. This is an unbelieveable price.

Truly Amazing 10 ft Tylosaur Skull and Skeleton (All original) from Cretaceous Texas

Species:  Mosasaur Tylosaurus

Species description: Tylosaurs were large-bodied marine lizards armed with sturdy conical teeth and a elongated  pre maxilla. They ate other mosasaurs, fish, birds like hesperornis and sharks so they ate anything they could capture in the sea .  These were the largest mosasaurs, making them one of largest marine reptiles in the sea obtaining lengths up to 15 meters. They were ambush predators also.

Geological Period: Late Cretaceous  70-65 MYA

Item location: Honey Grove, Texas

Item rating and description:  x-Large  10 Ft + Attack Tylosaur - Swimming reptile about 75% Complete  including Most of Skull Parts (Skull 2.5 ft long). I'm not normally a swimming reptile fan but this convinced me otherwise that I needed to expand my range. It was so good in  bone quality , completeness, and price I had to share with someone this beaut, It has almost all vertebrae including ribs, 90% of skull (while in pieces it can be placed together if you desire). The teeth are present as single units and by having pieces you have many display options you can choose to do-  Full mount,  board mount, Just the skull alone goes for thousands of dollars as I have another for $58,000 at site but can pass the bones to someone else to make a fortune by mounting or getting it mounted which I can help. Anyway you will like this one.  One pic to show you how much of this beast which roamed the seas during the dinosaurs. Here is a chance to pick up a rare 70-75% complete large animal  to display the way you want. This is an unreal price. The head goes for more than this normally but you get the bulk of the animal with it. It is packed and has all bones Ided for easy assembly.

100% Original Super Huge 13.5" 30 Million Year Stylemys Turtle

Species: Stylemys nebrascensis

Species description: Word means Pillar mouse but is a Dry Land Tortoise. At one time it was common in the West but went extinct 23 MYA. The ancient tortoises had primitive jaw muscles and forelimbs were unsuitable for digging like modern ones. Many species existed.

Geological strata: White River Formation

Geological period: Oligocene Period 35 - Early Miocene 23 MYA

Item location:  Shannon County,  South Dakota

Item rating and description: 12 Large 13.5" 100 % original Stylemys Land Tortoise with Beautiful White Color. The key item here it is is all original and only missing the under protective small projection  and due to the originality I could not restore it so this is special. Only a few crack fills have been done so it was prepped but this is one of finest quality specimens without restore you will ever see. The bottom was indented slightly in the middle and sides not perfect but the originality make this piece for a true collector worth every cent of a discounted price. Most of turtles you buy are 80% real turtle and the rest filler painted well. There is no paint at all and filler is so little on crack fills and most cracks are not even filled on this specimen so I never had one like this. I'm also discounting it for you. This will move quick.
