Beautiful Perfect Almost 100% Megantereon Saber-cat Skull

Species : Megantereon  nihowanensis(or cultridens-same species)

Species description: This cat evolved into SMILODON in N . America  known from La Brae tar pits in California. It was built like a modern jaguar but heavier, and had the largest sabers per skull and body size than any saber-tooth cat that ever lived including Smilodon. It was larger than average saber-tooth cat that was very successful yet found sparingly in fossil records . IT had stock forelimbs, with lower half lion -sized and large neck muscles designed to deliver a powerful bite. It severed the jugular and windpipe with a quick bite. It was a solitary hunter not like machairodus.  The elongated upper canines were protected by flanges at the mandible. They weighed up to 300lbs. The upper incisors and lower were flattened as they appeared to tear off after much tearing as this animal shows. It was one of the most geographically successful saber-cats of all time and only one full skeleton has been excavated in France.

Geographical Area:  Pliocene-mid Pleistocene 4.5 MYA in America -500,000 yrs ago in China

Item location:  Gansu Providence, China

Item description & rating:  12+++++$  Perfect RARE Megantereon  Saber-tooth  Cat 11" w/  3 5/8" Sabers.  This cat evolved into Smilodon from California Tar pits. This animal is 99% original bone and 100% original teeth including perfect  3 5/8" Sabers. The  entire specimen  is top notch. It is beautifully prepared by one of countries best preppers and he said it is the finest Asian saber-cat he ever saw.  The bone is almost all present which also is extremely rare on these saber-cats and a super color. The back of the lowers are never present but in this cat the entire lowers are original bone with one small are on back of one restored. All zygos and crest are real original bone, which never occurs before now.  IT is one  of  better pieces you can find. The value will grow huge in 5 years.  This piece will be displayed at many events for true appreciation.  I said on other one a once-in-a-lifetime piece but I have 2 of them now by pure luck  and this is best one if you must compare. If you want to talk about it please call 706-235-2694. Available for museums. Words can’t describe this skull as it is very fine.  This is better than a  museum quality piece because you will never see one this great anywhere , and few have these saber-cats . At first I thought it was a homotherium due to saber –width but the top authority in the country said it was a meg that’s sabers were not fully erupted  which is why they don’t extend ventrally below the flange  when occluded. In other words not quite an adult but length of skull indicates an adult (11").

It has a story about it because just behind the eyes a very small mammal ate out the brains of the animal from both sides  right after death which gives it class instead of imperfection. The entire skull is so beautiful and shaped so well it is a sight to behold.

Extra Fine Largest Dinictis Skull 8.5" of Old Collection of Saber-cats

Species: Beautiful Large Dinictis squalidens Saber-Cat Skull

Species description: The long-legged dinictis with razor-sharp sabers was the smallest and the earliest saber-tooth cat that roamed North America beginning in the Eocene Period 45 MYA -23 MYA. They stood at least 2 ft tall with cheetah-like habits and diet, and were solitary predators hunting an abundant food supply of grazing ungulates including camels and oreodonts. Using their highly developed saber-teeth they would likely sever the blood supply in the neck of their prey in the initial attack.

X- Fine Large 18" Adult Hipparion Horse Skull from the Far East

Species: Extra Fine Pretty Large 18" Hipparion Horse from China

Species description: Larger horse than American version who began in North America 20 MYA and lasted in US until end on Miocene 5.3 MYA but later in China. The American version was close to Modern horse but the size of a pony. It evolved into a large horse in China and survived for 13 Million years there. It was like an modern horse but had vestigial outer toes in addition to its hoof . It was well over 6 ft long.

Geological strata: Hipparion Fauna

Geological period: 15 -2.5 MYA

Item location: Gansu Providence Red Clay China

Item rating and description: 12 +X-Nice Rare 18" x 10" High Hipparion Horse Miocene China Skull. The landscape during the Miocene has had so many unusual animals and this animal was one of larger horses throughout time until the modern horse. This specimen is so nice with about 1% restore and crack fills. The teeth are all present and large and also comes with many other bones of this horse and even another set of lower jaw teeth from another horse. It had many bones in matrix on one side of the horse which made it so difficult to prep and took almost a week. This was a large horse not too much smaller than today's horse and this specimen has all the facial bone present with a beautiful back part of head . There is no distortion at all on this one and a real beauty. It was whole but did break in shipping but reattached professionally so it is great. It is prepped almost all the way including entire eyes and each back skull part removed from matrix. The matrix was really hard and really protected this skull and would be a great addition to a class collection.

X-Large Rarest of Rare Allosaurus 95% original 6" Hand Claw

Species: Allosaurus fragilis

Species description: Largest Therapod Meat Eating Jurassic dinosaur ever often reaching up to 35 ft long Of as long as a bus. Its large skull with movable joints in the skull allowed it to bite huge bites to devour its prey which included the largest of sauropods often reaching over 70 ft long. It did hunt in groups and was probably the greatest predator that ever lived even greater than TREX. It had a S-shaped bulldog neck and each powerful arm having 3 clawed fings and one large one only. These did not rejuvenate as teeth did. It weighed 2 tons at least . Allosaurus hands were way bigger than TREX.

Geological strata: Morrison Formation

Geological period: Late Jurassic 172-140 MYA

Item location: Buckshot Quarry, Buckshot Subdivision, Moffat County, Colorado Found by Robert Witherell in 1995

Item description and rating: 12 ++++ ++++ Unbelieveable X- Rare Large Allosaurus Hand Claw. 95% original. This Great claw was only recently prepped after being found over 14 years ago, and is so beautiful and almost perfect. This is the best quality claw of 6 allosaurus claws I had this year and no one now has any allosaurus claws for sale anywhere and this is my 6th this year. I have another also. This is only for top collectors who want to have a large rare claw. It truly is so nice it is a dream come true for me and now for you. Again as a few other items, If not sold I will gladly keep it. I only ever had one better than 85% before. One side only on tip for ½ has some small restore while other side is perfect. The ½ tip and one small ½ inch section on same side in middle keeps it from being totally original . The other side while no restore does have some wear towards back of claw. Even the greatest eye cannot detect the restored areas as only surface area is affected not thru the width of the claw -as it is all there . No reason to say anything else except a recent one that was 6.5 inches long with 2.5" of tip restored on both sides went for $6000 at auction just in case you don’t know values. This claw should get $8500 but you can get it for less per inch than a TREX which goes for $1300 and who ever saw a TREX hand claw over 5 inches. Under one thousand per inch again. Whoever purchases this will have a copy of one selling with 35% restored for $6000.

Sensational Ultra Rare Carnivore-2nd Largest Bone-Cracking Hyena Ever 12"+ Adcrocuta Skull

Species: 1st Bone-Cracking Hyena Adcrocuta eximia

Species description: This extinct Miocene Hyena skull looks close to that of the modern spotted, brown hyenas but much bigger with a stocky build with short, robust limbs. It was highly successful as shown by remains over Eurasia and Northern Africa. It was the second largest hyena ever and was followed by the Largest lion-sized Dinocrocuta gigantea that was 15" skulls. These Large Adcrocuta Hyenas were fierce killing predator carnivores killing anything in its path. All bone-cracking hyenas were extinct before Pleistocene.

Geological strata: Hipparion Formation

Geological period: Late Miocene 10 MYA-5 MYA

Item location: Gansu Providence, China

Item rating and description: 12+++Exceptional Huge 12.5" x 7.5" Complete Hyena Adcrocuta Skull. The entire skull is just so beautiful and so huge I get mesmerized by this skull. The second largest hyena ever, this animal was a carnivore all the way. Look at huge 1¾" front teeth of which there were 4 of them . All teeth are EXCEPTIONAL and all 100% original. The bone is simply an amazing color and with the exception of a little restore in back of both jaws, and small area of zygos this would be considered perfect. The back of skull is original and missing one condyle. This specimen is 95% bone complete and original . Dinocrocuta were largest at 15" long skulls and cost $15,000, and are just as popular as the big Saber-cats so this is a chance to pick up a huge carnivore at a low price. This is my first one and these are rare and few available. No other one is available for sale at any location so buy it quickly. It comes with a nice display for your convenience.
