Item rating and description:1-10 9 Amazing Many piece Invertebrates plus 5 plant fossils which shows how this part of the West was under water –a Sea for many years .Many Filter Feeding tube Worm of Some type are here with lengths 6”,7”. 9” two 13” plus a 15” fossil worm out of matrix plus 5 fossil plants in matrix. This is quite the assembly of animals and plants to show you what it was like millions of years even before the dinosaurs . Some or all could be Cretaceous but I believe most of the animals were 550 million years old as I think they died out during the Permian Period. First these are hardly ever found in S Dakota as it’s a first for me,, and second it is 350 Million years old which shows a seaway through here at that time which actually was at the rim of Pangea –one land mass only . IM not an invertebrate guy which is why you can get a rare find very ,very cheap . At one time this was meant for a museum but somehow I got these. These were animals may have lived right up to end of Cretaceous Period but Im not sure. If anyone knows the species but they appears to be some form of bacililites. Anyway it can be yours at a gift price a since I don’t know value of these but know this is valuable due to location and size , and I had never seen this particular species ever and I started with invertebrates 20 years ago and had a nice collection .
