Splendid High Quality Rarest of Oligocene Sabercats 9.5” PogonodonSkull w 6 Verts w Atlas

Splendid High Quality Rarest of USA Oligocene Sabercats 9.5” Pogonodon Skull w Verts& Atlas

Species: Pogonodon cismontamus(Platycopis) Saber- Cat Skull 82-85%

Species description: One of earliest Nimravidae endemic to North America and Eurasia .A Nimravid saber-tooth cat that roamed North America beginning in the Oligocene Period 30.8MYA -7.2MYA . They stood at least 2 ft tall with cheetah-like habits and diet , and were solidary predators hunting an abundant food supply of grazing ungulates including camels and oreodonts . Using their highly developed saber-teeth they would likely sever the blood supply in the neck of their prey in the initial attack. Their sabers are smaller than a Dinictis normally but not this specimen as shown with this specimen and estimated weight was around 70 lbs . This fossil is so rare it has little written about it .It lived at least 23.6 Million years This specimen is so big the sabers are much bigger than a Dincitis, and one of rarest fossils on earth

Geological strata: Uppermost Brule Formation Just below uppermost nodules in the White Zone Just at bottom of Sharps Formation

Geological period: 32-24 MYA This one 32-30 MYA –Top of Layers so a later more advanced one -

Item location: White River Badlands -Shannon County , S Dakota

Item Rating & Details :1-10 10 To have two of the rarest of Oligocene cats -a Pogonodon Skull is so amazing when I have had 2 total in 25 years as the catman. It also has 6 neck verts including an atlas that is so appealing. The color is so great darker tan which is so unusual. This is one of most greatest finds in America in the Sabercat world. This one is darker, and just so magnificent. I’m the luckiest guy in the world. The rareness of this cat plus the high quality make this the ones Ill remember most even though I’ve had hundreds of cats over 25 years. It’s a POGONODON HIGHLY ORIGINAL SABER-TOOTH CAT that has such high actually bone quality . The molars. premolars and carnasials are original however, the upper and lower front teeth are casted with a few repaired. I have sold many cats but these 2 take the cake. What makes this such a great find is originality of the bone skull is an amazing 95% and these just aren’t found. All the teeth are pleasing even though some casted. On a Dinictis or Hoplo that effects value but not near as much on an animal that is huge for Oligocene cats and so rare only a few have been found. It has been IDed by a knowledgeable authority as well as myself who has been around the cat world. Keep in mind other sabercats of this timeframe are much smaller by a few inches . If you get a 60% one your excited and that has extreme value . I recently sold a Nimravus not as rare for $20 thousand and not as big by far. The prep work was fantastic as it is exceptionally done . The zygos are even real and well as almost all the upper except small section in back of worth just a little restored . The lowers are amazing even with most of back original. The color, shape and rareness is just unmatched and have only seen a few of these my entire life. I have one in my collection but this I still hate to sell but will if price is right I will WHAT A Great cat. A LIFETIME KEEPER and one of a few that exist including museums. BONE QUALITY unmatched anywhere I know of only the 2 I have now for sale . These are believed to be developed from the dinictis genus which is the smallest of the American cats but just look at this one. To get one with an atlas and 5 other neck verts attached on a display is so awesome .

Ultra Rare Early First HOPLOPHONUES(Mini Smilodon) OREODONTIS Skull 7.5”

ULTRA RARE EARLY HOPLOPHONEUS OREODONTIS SKULL 7.5 inch skull 85%

Species: Beautiful Hoplophoneus Saber- Cat Skull oreodontis-First hoplo saber cat ever (2nd ever to Dinctis )

Species description: The long –legged Nimravid saber-tooth cat (one of largerone)with razor –sharp sabers and the second earliest saber-tooth cat that roamed North America beginning in the Oligocene Period 35 MYA -23 MYA . These animals had a lot of physical characteristics similar and exact to Smilodon including famous saber-guards and similar sabers while smaller . They stood at over 2 ft tall the size of a large bobcat, and were more of a group predator with a close knit families as evidenced by some hoplos found together in death while overall very rare species hunting an abundant food supply of grazing ungulates including camels and oreodonts. Using their highly developed saber-teeth they would likely sever the blood supply in the neck of their prey in the initial attack.

Geological strata: LOWER BRULE

Timeframe : 40-34MYA

Item location: Shannon County , SD

Item rating and description:1-10 10 on Rarity This is the 2nd sabertooth cat ever in the entire world as its a very early Hoplophoneous sabertooth. Sabertooths originalted here in USA and this was second only to Dinictis . Gorgeous 7 ½ ” Rarer Hoplophoneus- Early Cat Skull in Excellent Shape . Some people say this was combined into priveavus species but as a White River expert with others ts divided to another species it’s an amazing find This is actually not primaveus, and is a really rare oreodontis species that has top quality at 85% . The teeth are great on premolars but incisors and sabers are casts This is uch a rare species I’ve only had one in 20 years before this. For a true collector this is a must skull . It was the early hoplo -the first ever in fact .This is an old cat and primeavus would be bigger . It was found in very early rock which lower Brule is. Repair on one cheek , backs of both lowers and a few small spots own upper but top quality for such a rare skull . Even with sabers these never come around. All the rest is original cat . My last one sold for a lot over 14,000 and this is better . Cat of USA are so hard to find anymore. Its almost impossible . If you read some articles many scientists have combined this into primeavus but the institute says this is definitely a different very rare species as they have only had a few of these in over 40 years , and its guaranteed a new rare species oreodontis so its –just too valuable .This wont be around again .This would go for $18.000 -20,000 if not for sabers so its a great chance to get a great skull fore the money

One Of Kind -  Super Rare Eusmilus US Saber-tooth Cat with Saber

Species: Eusmilus olsontau

Species description: The Nimravid saber-tooth cat (one of smaller ones)with razor –sharp sabers and after Dinictis and Hoplophoneus on geological chart which is believed to evolve from one line of hoplophoneus saber cat that roamed North America beginning in the Oligocene Period for only a few million years from 30-27.7 MYA . These animals had a lot of physical characteristics similar to Hoplophoneus Sicarius except for size , as Eusmilus was the genus for that animal until a short time ago . All these are small saber cats only 5-6 inches long with large sabers and flanges for the size which makes it look like a barbourfelis and a hoplo except for much smaller size .It had only 26 teeth compared to 44 for most saber cats and it was lacking molar 1 talonoid and premolar 2 on the bottom jaw . It was bobcat sized with lynx sized head and was built like Barbourfelis for size (Of course Barbourfelis is much larger ). Long bodied and short legged compared to others, and they ate grazing ungulates including camels and oreodonts. They could open their jaws at a 90% angle . Most of the info on internet is incorrect as below is correct . It did not live 8 million years, just over 2 and did not have a large species in America (only this small one)at least and one in Europe was bigger .

Geological strata: Upper Whitneyan and Early Arikareean Age

Geological Time frame: 30-27.7 MYA

Item location: Pennington County , SD

Item rating and description:1-10 10 Gorgeous Small Ultra Rare Eusmilus Saber-tooth Cat 5.5” . This cat is so special I still can’t hardly believe I have one. Only a few in the entire world exist with a few museums in USA and Europe , and only 2 private collections exist as known and I’m one of them . Due to a friend I was able to obtain a dream and this is one of few which actually have a saber anywhere . It has one complete side with some bone missing on top but a beautiful back , and the other side is there –just need to prep it . It has excellent bone quality, and is one of the true Eusmilus Cats . I’ve been reading about this cat for years, and by the way now that Hoplophoneus Sicarius has been reclassified no large ones exist as the web says in America . Too many awesome words can’t fully describe this cat. This may be the only one with this much of one saber These are found in rock nodules This is beyond words Its been in my collection for years This is only for cat collectors that will never have another chance to buy . The owner is so lucky Ive been so proud for years but its time for someone else This is 100% original and the one saber is only one of this species that may exist . Top Fossil in the World-100% Original Great MEGANTEREON Saber-cat 12” Upper Skull & 25” Megahorse

The Most Beautiful, Perfect, Unusual Fossil Ever- Ultra Life Death Struggle of a Sabercat & MegaHorse

Species : Megantereon inexpectatus & Megahorse (Sinohippus species unknown )

Species description : . Built like a modern jaguar but heavier . It had stocky forearms with the lower half of these forelimbs lion-sized. It delivered a shearing bite with 5 “ sabers . Per size of skull it had the largest sabers per head area of any saber-tooth cat. It originated in North America 4.5MYA and went to Europe and Asia . An update we believe meg was found in Africa 6 MYA but not confirmed from the pieces This cat was the forerunner to the American Smilodon so evolved into Smilodon of LaBrae . Fossils are found here (just pieces) and in Africa , It doent get any better than this Europe, and Asia . In fact an entire skeleton was found in France close to where this skull was found many years ago . The Megahorse in France is even rarer than the Cat. It’s a Huge Horse that is so rare only 2 known . So few that nothing much is even written about it but it was huge like a Clydesdale horse today. At 3.5 million years ago it’s firmly recorded in Africa -with some believed now to be 6 MYA old around Kenya of today and about 2.5 million in parts of Asia . In Europe where this specimen was found the earliest was a little less than 2.5 MYA

Geographical Area: Overall Species 6.5 MYA MYA Miocene –Pliocene

Item location: Underground Limestone Pit in Les Etouaries 40 years ago ,France in a pit that used to be Sand and Silt Quicksand .This one is about 2 Million Years OLD

Item description & rating: 1-10 10 Unbelieveable OF HIGHEST QUALITY 12” Upper Skull Forerunner Megantereon inexpectatus SABER-TOOTH CAT with Huge 5” Sabers –all real Plus the rarest Largest Extinct Horse in the World called a Megahorse. The megahorse is 25 inches long like a Clydesdale nowdays. These fossils tell a great story . The sabercat jumped on the horse while it was in quicksand and died immediately as it broke off its outer Jaw. Anyone knows you break your bottom jaw and you die. This cat bit off more than it could chew, and sank in quicksand with the horse. This is my second most prized possession but my favorite . It’s been in my collection for 25 years. No one has anything like this in the world. Two extremely rare animals both 100% original with highest quality possible - both interlocked in a death scene. The only known full skeleton of the Meg was found in this area , and only 1 other Megahorse was ever found in France. The cat was the forerunner to Smilodon in USA . All teeth original on both animals teeth. This cat had Sabers over 5 “ Long and all teeth 100% original to this cat. These are found in USA occasionally but this one was found in France many, many years ago in early 80’s , and purchased here in USA 30 plus years ago from a French dealer from what I’m told. Previous owner had it 20 years also. While the megantereon originated here no one has found a complete skull only teeth and partial jaws The bone is super beige color with darker brown lines throughout and the teeth are so magnificent with all teeth original. Not many are found anywhere. To me this is the greatest Fossil in the World ,and many has told me this used to have on site 15 years ago and had so much response I took it off until now . I don’t want to sell it just share it with the world . Even some experts think the matrix was put in but it was found with entire matrix covering the 2 animals and matrix chipped away and smoothed so even matrix is real . Of course it doesn’t matter anyway on value Its original matrix as well as all original bone . It doesn’t get any better than this. It will be in MY collection forever . Enjoy . I’m sure you will think its the best fossil anywhere also. It’s a pure masterpiece that is a work of nature that is beyond words . You can’t help to visualize and wonder how this happened where a saber-cat and Huge Horse are locked in this death struggle fighting for their lives in a limestone quicksand pit . This solution is what caused the color of the animal as in mix hardened over millions of years

NOT FOR SALE call 706-235-2694 to talk about it Alan Stout (Owner of dinolandplus.com ). It doesn’t get any better than this.

Value : Priceless Its my most admired piece after my Full American Lion Skeleton

Beautiful One-Of-a Kind HOMOTHERIUM Saber Cat 13 ” Long

Beautiful ULTRA-RARE Adult HOMOTHERIUM Saber-Cat

Species Homotherium

Species Description :This cat evolved from Machairodus and
appeared at Miocene –Pliocene border about 5 MYA and lived in Africa as well as
Euroasia and died out lastly in Asia and North America about 10,000 years ago
so it was highly successful . It was a scimitar cat built built like a modern
lion that had about 13 “ skull but much longer teeth called sabers . It was larger than average saber-tooth cat that
was very successful yet hardly ever found in fossil records .Complete Skeletonshave only been found in Texas . It looks like megantereon, however much shorter
sabers and less sized lowersaberguard and sabers reached to end of lower jaw as this one does. It reached 1.1 meters at shoulder . As said as compared to

megantereon, and gripping force . The skull was longer than smilodon, and machairodus its sabers were relatively short. It provided a great
punchuring and gripping force. This jawhas turned down flanges to protect the scimitars. It has large canine teeth
that were crenulated and designed for slashing rather than purely stabbing ..Some of the physical appearances were unusual for a big cat as it had limbs
that were hyena –like . Forelegs elongated while hind legs were rather squatwith feet plantograde causing back to slope down towards a short tail similar
to a lion. It had a large nasal cavity opening like a cheetah which allowed greater oxygen intake with brain visual cortex large and allowed it to hunt
during the day instead of night like many cats . IT lived 5 million years longer than megantereon . It hunted in packs and not only killed mammoths but
also rhinoceros juveniles .

Geographic Time frame: possible Early Pleistocene

Item description: and rating : 1-10 10 X-Ultra Rare Beautiful Complete AdultFemale Homotherium Scimitar Sabercat Skull 13 “ long . It is 98% original bones and 100% Org Teethwith one incisor absent but naturally missing as it probably broke off in a kill or fight (per noted authority who wrote a book on scimitar cats ). The socket was filled with natural bone, and the lower matching tooth as less wornindicating the cat lost it long before it had a chance to wear down the opposing incisor so the pathology tells a story while this sabercat was alive .I have wanted a whole one for years and the opportunity was afforded from from a friend who is a top expert on these creatures , and this will be admired byme and ones who read this and never sold . Another owns this now and I’m selling for them . IT was originally from a German dealer a year ago . Most were about 13-14 inches long so this is an adult . This has shoter and wider sabers than a megantereon, as they go well past the saber guard in size. This is one of most complete skulls you would ever find with lowers. Only a number of them have been found in a Texascave and 2 in Florida and a handful in China and Europe . The great thing about this species it is a form ofcrenatidens but a different unclassified species that needs researched even more so we can safely say only a few exist . I have never seen another for saleanywhere in 20 years . AS someone who knows a lot on cats said the species is close to Xenosmulus but different so no species has been classified to date , .Anyway its so rare has been classified under crenatidans for now . Wow what a sabercat IM selling this for a friend soI don’t have it myself , but can get it to mail quickly .

Rarest Lion -Beautiful 15” Russian Beringian Lion Skull Highly Original

RAREST LION – Beautiful 15” Russian Beringian Lion Skull Highly Original

(One of a Kind Fossil)

Species : Panthera leo vereshagini(extremely rare) few skulls know Beringian Lion or East Siberian

Species Description: This species evolved from spleaea Panthera but it is extremely rare as no skeletons exist of this except now last summer 2 lions were discovered with hair and intact organs and entire skeleton . They actually have parts found in Alaska and western Canada, and that’s it. Various studies report varying sizes as some report it’s bigger than Spelaea and smaller than American lion , which makes since Cave lions of Europe never made it this far, however most report smaller lions at 1.8 meters long with tails of 37 inches and height of 44 inches with weight of over 550 lbs which still is large . Mine is smaller than atrox by a lot, but while some skull differences of European Cave lion and American lion , the American Lion can be traced to this species Actually DNA is exact on all so all could be one species just found in different parts of the world . These migrated across the land bridge to USA in Alaska and Canada so it’s the only Lion to do so thus divergence into American Lion . In fact in early studies vereshagini is mentioned as American Lion Atrox . Skeletal remains are space with no full skulls found and only 2 baby lions in Russia known . These were found with hair, skin , organs due to all in permafrost . This is the rarest lion anywhere as I have a collection of rare older lions also .

Geographic Period : Pleistocene Epoch 320,000 -12,000 years ago (Mine est at 30,000 )

Geographic time: 320,000 years ago -12,000 years ago

Item Location : Yakutia-Eastern Siberia – Found in Clay profile of the Indigirka River Downstream(South) well into Siberia

Item rating and description: 1-10 *10 plus * WOW This may be the only one out there –Russian Lion Skull 15” Long. If you google it it says no skeletons found just a few skulls but you have the chance to get a genuine skull . The only part not real is the 2 upper canines but I will find some for you as I do get them. This is my first Russian Lion ever as these are the rarest . I’ve had now all extinct species of lion at one time or another now . This is one of rarest items I have and will go at great sums at auction. It’s worth much more than asking due to rareness. Its not real light so indicates at least 30,000 years old . It was found in the river at a location that no others are known to be found at all. It’s so close to American Lion this needs studied or in a collection that will be honored forever as a one-of-a-kind piece . Remember this are is close to Alaska and Anerican Lion came from this lion across the Bering straight .It looks so close to me to the American Lion except size smaller , which it is supposed to be . It is even rarer than the American Lion which I thought was impossible even though all are grouped together by many scientists . NO resto and don’t think it was broken . One-of-a-kind It is missing many teeth with 2 front top teeth casted canines.

Various studies report varying sizes as some report it’s bigger than Spelaea and smaller than American lion, however most report smaller lions at 1.8 meters long with tails of 37 inches and height of 44 inches with weight of over 550 lbs which still is large . Mine is smaller than atrox by a lot, but while some skull differences of European Cave lion and American lion , the American Lion can be traced to this species. Actually DNA on Cave Lions is exact on all so all could be one species just found in different parts of the world .

Geographic Period : Pleistocene Epoch 320,000 -12,000 years
ago (Mine est at 30,000 )

Geographic time: 320,000 years ago -12,000 years ago

Item Location : Yakutia-Eastern Siberia – Found in Clay profile of the Indigirka River Downstream(South) well into Siberia

Item rating and description: 1-10 *10 plus * WOW For someone who can’t afford a whole skull -here is a chance to get an entire right side lower jaw of a lion from Russia . All teeth are original and nothing done to teeth including canine. It might appear to untrained eye the canine is not complete but the natural wear shows this was a lion that was old and damaged its canine in hitting bones while eating . It tells a story . The
canine is all there and original , just a vicious lion eating sloppily its prey .The age has to be very very old for this animal Few of these are available anymore as American Lion jaws you can’t get anymore even though I have 2 of them . If you google it -it says no skeletons found just a few skulls but you have the chance to get a genuine lower jaw that is perfect. No resto no crack fills no nothing just a jaw for you skull. I have 2 skulls both worth over 20,000 . It has premolars molars and and even 1 incisors. The color indicates at least 30,000 years old . It was found in the river at a location that no others are known to be found at all. It’s so close to American Lion this needs studied or in a collection that will be honored forever as a one-of-a-kind piece . Remember this is close to Alaska and American Lion came from this lion across the Bering Straight . It is just a as big and looks identical to my American Lion Jaws . It is even rarer than the American Lion which I thought was impossible even though all are grouped together by many scientists . It never was broken. This is my only 1 now.

Amazing Remarkable 10 Year Project -Complete American Lion 17 ” Long -History

Many More pics for your viewing pleasure

The History of Lions originates with African Lions at least 2 million years ago & European Cave Lion(Panthera Leo fossilis in France ) in Eastern Europe then Panthera Spelae with dates ranging from 3.4 Million -500,000 years ago for the beginning with end only 10,000 years ago . All lions are decendants of this first lion including American Lion. All Lions are named for their location due to mutations . Due to fossils being so rare all literature published has very few fossils to base anything on . It is believed to come across the Bering Strait 250,000 years ago to Alaska and down through Alaska along the coast and thru western Canada namely Yukon thru British Columbia all the way to LA , California South to Mexico , and then Florida with pieces in S Carolina. Since it came to Alaska almost all people believe its called American lion including me . A few papers after 2009 put Alaskan items separate but those papers can’t see the forest thru the trees. American lion is from Alaska thru Mexico (Northern end) , Canada, Florida and California and the most desired fossil in the world .Cave lions and African lions were living at same time but different species than today with Ivory Coast Barbiary Lions(different Species of African Lion) only extinct for the last few hundred years , and African lions which still exists but different from earlier African Lions . Russian lions also came from Panthera European Cave lion which are much smaller .ed years ago. I have had every extinct lion(not including subspecies) in the universe which no one on the planet can say . As I said researched have partial elements and small samples and conclusions are based on little .

Almost all of these lions have very similar features and only differ by size and small DNA differences . In fact American Lion and European lions have almost identical DNA . This one was tested 20 years ago by Larry Martin in Kansas at University so it showed similarities with European Lion so he did research way before others on this cat . While those are similar American lion La Brea is also very similar to Alaskan Lions but did mutate some. Still due to location in Alaska all people should call it American Lion. Mine was purchased when all people considered it American Lion and 90% still do of course as I do. .DNA with other lions also is very similar including Lions from LA. . Everywhere on earth lions are called by where they ended up including American lions. Canada lions right next door miles away were considered American Lions by all as they said they mutated. Now it really hasn’t changed any other persons dealing in Lions as Alaskan lions are American Lions. Atrox is same size of many earlier lions -huge . Only a few writers said the glacier advance was a dividing line on Atrox & Alaskan lions with is not correct so ridiculous as glaciers came as far south as Tennessee in east and California is West . In fact the last million years we have had 9 advances of glaciers every 100,000 years (80,000 ice age glaciers and 20,000 years warm) . In 10,000 more years we will be in another ice age. I’ve had American lion and Florida items and bones and skulls are no different than Alaska lions in any way. I have probably been receipant of more lion material than anyone on earth as all lions are similar . You don’t call African Lions even though some came from Europe- European Lions . Modern African lions are much smaller but still basically the same . The Route these lions took was down thru Alaska into Washington the route to California and Florida . I’ve had 5 European lions and sold them all and partial American lion material(This is only 1 whole l known in world-even museums outside La Brea) and they all look alike. That shows my qualifications on lions. People who deal in limited fossil material are basing any judgments on minimal sources as Lion is so scarce in Alaska and anywhere else . A few individual fossils does not make a compelling argument compared to seeing these items and mutations always occur to some degree due to environment. Since they exist in Americas they are American Lions . I was in Yukon and they had a pelt from an American Lion at a museum and it was labeled American lion, not spelae. La Brea lions from California are the same as Alaskan Lions as I’ve talked to them. I can get you smilodon material but rarely lion so lion is much rarer . This lion size is truly a King of Beasts .

I’ve studied lions for years and all people involved in lions call Alaskan Lions, American Lions . I have lots of knowledge on earth on lions because I’ve studied them and sabercats for years .My friend is a writer of sabercat books, and I have actually had a number of American Lions partial jaws but that’s all with a few bones.

Anyway almost all of mine is from Alaska and Florida except the feet from Europe and the only one in private hands known . No skulls in Florida exist in private collections except mine(I have an upper) as well as La Brae Tar Pits -all owned by government .This lion is one -of -a -kind as someone can’t get another anywhere . All people in Alaska and Canada including Yukon as I was there and saw one at a museum as one was found frozen and placed as American Lion. I‘ve seen so many times google does not have correct info on dinosaurs and mammals so hope this puts to rest any researchers of google .I also know the top lion expert in the world in Africa and Middle East, and he agrees wholeheartedly. All lions have minor differences even in same countries like Africa but all are closely related -Again all from same lion from Europe -spelea(fossils in France) . Even European spealea now is impossible to find as some were on market a last 10 years but now government controlled areas means no more . These European lions go over $350,000 , and American Lions are over 1/2 million and will rise a lot next 20 years so ones in private hands will never be for sale due to investment .

This cat no one has anywhere on earth. Someday maybe you get the chance to buy but not now . Its worth at least 500,000 as one- of- a -kind. The only place on earth they find American Lion was Alaska but not nothing for at least 10 years so how can you price one-of-a kind. No one has an American Lion for sale anywhere at any time La Brae Tar pits even said their lions are from many f different animals -all of them 5 displayed. When I told them I had only 4 lions in one they were amazed. This maybe the only one ever for sale . Yes the feet are cave lion because no American lion feet exists and its the same DNA . One amazing find .
