Beautiful Light Color Highly Original  Hoplophoneus  Saber- Cat Skull 8” w 2 Great Sabers

Species : Hoplophoneus dakotenis

Species description:   The long –legged Nimravid  saber-tooth cat (one of larger one)with razor –sharp sabers and the second earliest saber-tooth cat  that roamed North America beginning in the Oligocene Period 35 MYA -23 MYA . These animals had a lot of physical characteristics  similar and exact

to  Smilodon including famous saber-guards and similar sabers while smaller . They stood at over 2 ft tall the size of a large bobcat, and were more of a group predator with a close knit families as  evidenced by  some hoplos found together in death while overall very rare species hunting

an abundant food supply of grazing ungulates including camels  and oreodonts. Using their highly  developed saber-teeth they would likely sever the blood supply in the neck of their prey in the initial attack.

Geological strata:  Scenic Member , Brule  Formation

Geological Timeframe :  Orellan , Oligocene  Approx 30 MYA

Item location : Shannon County  , SD

Item rating and description: 1-10 9.8  Gorgeous est. 85% Original  Hoplophoneus Saber-Cat  Skull 8”    long with2  long 2.75” Sabers-both real . One tip has small resto .  Both are real which today is unheard. Its high quality  and haven’t had a 2 saber Oligocene cat in years . Its not perfect some resto mainly one back of lower , which is normally 2  restored . It’s a very very good cat 5” wide with all premolars and molars original from same cat . Some incisors  -larger ones also real with some restored on upper and lower . It had some repairs due to some crushing but came out so great . This is the only one at Tucson show this year and normally I get 4-5 cats . None were found last year at all of This cat appears so great . Every cat I get from this area from one person sells so fast due to quality of cat. It’s amazing  You just cant get 2 sabers real anymore from the same animal as this one so it is special .You won’t see a better quality cat anymore. The lower jaw is original to this cat also which is rare. They are so hard to get anymore.  The teeth are so appealing and love the bone also.  Incisors are almost never real and many of these are on top and bottom. Sabers are so beautifully prepped and brown colored. On upper only a little on zygos are restored with a few spot fills and condyles   On lower only one side at top of back except spot fills is restored which is amazing . This cat is worth a fortune.  The metal display makes this so presentable with metal uprights  and is rare for any cat -which makes it stable and so pleasing to the eye . Anyway . Here it is. Words don’t do this justice . I sell 6-10 sabercats per year normally but may not get anymore , and this will go fast at this price . All have sold.   This is one I won’t mind keeping, but it can be yours. An animal this good should go for over what IM charging as 2 sabers is impossible on American cats .I will not discount a pure beauty in nature. This is only one I have .  I have more pics if you need it.   Cats have gone up a lot so here it is. Every year they appreciate more also so great investment. This species is rare also  Look at those sabers long and wide .  These have risen alot for us to purchase and no one has them for sale anymore so demand is high and supply is almost nonexistent  Not this time as Ive sold many with 1 saber at this price . SO better quality at better price .

Beautiful Amazing Highly 98%Original Dinictis Skull Saber-tooth Cat w Skeleton w All Original Teeth Incl Incisors

Beautiful Amazing  Dinictis Sabertooth Cat Skeleton w Skull with all Original Teeth

Species:    Dinictis squalidens Saber- Cat

Species description:   The long –legged dinictis with razor –sharp sabers was the smallest and the earliest  saber-tooth cat  that roamed North America beginning in the Eocene Period 45 MYA -23 MYA . They stood at least 2 ft tall with cheetah-like habits and diet , and were solitary predators hunting an abundant food supply of grazing ungulates including camels  and oreodonts . Using their highly developed saber-teeth they would likely sever the blood supply in the neck of their prey in the initial attack. Most skulls  were about 7.5 inches long

Geological strata: Upper Nodular Zone , Scenic Member  Brule Formation-early Dinictis

Geological period:  35-34 MYA Orellan

Item location: Private Land Directly from Landowner in Custer County , South Dakota

Item rating and description: 1-10  9.7   SIMPLY THE BEST DINICTIS SABERCAT SKULL (98%) with Complete Skeleton . My breath is taken away with this skeleton of a Dinictis American Sabercat I’ve had for awhile unprepped but now its prepped and beautiful .  The measurements of base are 49” long, x 12” wide, and 24” high  with body all within these measurements . Cat length is within but curved due to spine and tail so over 49” .The skull is the best I ever saw at over 97% original  with some repairs with only a small upper back of one lower jaw restored some of sagittal crest and zygomatic arches repaired  and 2 full real  sabers. Never saw a skull this good ever on American sabercats    The skull is about 7 inches long . All teeth are original even the incisors are almost all there and none restored .The sabers are 1 ¾ “ normal for this Dinictis.   This is rare as it’s an early dinictis so not real large which we expect for this species .   All but one of inner leg bones arm and leg  is real bone -main bones of any cat besides the  skull. They started small. I never saw an USA skull this original. The skeleton after thorough review and talks with the prepper  is a combination  of cast and real bone. Ribs were too fragile so we had to use casts for those. There are about 6 whole  vertebrate with parts of others on neck , dorsals and tail  so a fair amount  casts but many at least partials  . The feet are mostly real bones with even ½ sheaths and claws real bone with scapula and pelvic bones partial real but mostly casts . IT has a rod thru the spinal column for stability and new great way to mount . Original bones with arms  wrists original  and with feet the larger bones including feet real with some  ankle area bones casts.  Even ½ of claws are original. All original teeth is absolutely unheard of for a cat IN USA . And as far as total skeleton bone composition  by length since inner main bones all whole and real -Id estimate 60% of skeletal bones . So combined you have with 98% skull you have an amazing creature on display easy to assemble

Its mounted in a modern way with little stand showing and its EVER SAW . A rod is thru the spinal column thru first and last vert.   It doesn’t get any better than this cat also have searched for 8 years for perfection only to be denied , but not this time . This cat has everything- beautiful color, all original teeth, perfect sabers, skull with almost every square inch original and a pose where you can see all teeth upper and lower.  Most cats are no more than 60 % including head but head is an amazing 97% at least

It is really something special.  They just don’t come like this cat, and took years to get ready thru mounting. I had to have it and you will feel the same after looking at the pics. This worth so much but can’t sell it yet. Ill take offers but will not sell for a few years.  True value about $75-80,000  but seen many not this good for much more.

One Of Kind -  Super Rare Eusmilus US Saber-tooth Cat with Saber

Species: Eusmilus olsontau Species description: The Nimravid saber-tooth cat (one of smaller ones)with razor –sharp sabers and after Dinictis and Hoplophoneus on geological chart which is believed to evolve from one line of hoplophoneus saber cat that roamed North America beginning in the Oligocene Period for only a few million years from 30-27.7 MYA . These animals had a lot of physical characteristics similar to Hoplophoneus Sicarius except for size , as Eusmilus was the genus for that animal until a short time ago . All these are small saber cats only 5-6 inches long with large sabers and flanges for the size which makes it look like a barbourfelis and a hoplo except for much smaller size .It had only 26 teeth compared to 44 for most saber cats and it was lacking molar 1 talonoid and premolar 2 on the bottom jaw . It was bobcat sized with lynx sized head and was built like Barbourfelis for size (Of course Barbourfelis is much larger ). Long bodied and short legged compared to others, and they ate grazing ungulates including camels and oreodonts. They could open their jaws at a 90% angle . Most of the info on internet is incorrect as below is correct . It did not live 8 million years, just over 2 and did not have a large species in America (only this small one)at least and one in Europe was bigger . Geological strata: Upper Whitneyan and Early Arikareean Age Geological Time frame: 30-27.7 MYA Item location: Pennington County , SD Item rating and description:1-10 10 Gorgeous Small Ultra Rare Eusmilus Saber-tooth Cat 5.5” . ONE-OF KIND Magnificient Quality Adult Female HOMOTHERIUM SABER-Tooth CAT Skull 13 inches w Great Sabers

ONE-OF-KIND Magnificient Quality Adult HOMOTHERIUM SABER-TOOTH CAT  Skull 13” w Both Huge Sabers (Rarest of Rare)

  Species : HOMOTHERIUM crenatidens(Latidens)

Species description : This cat evolved from Machairodus and appeared at Miocene –Pliocene border about 5 MYA  and lived in Africa  as well as Euroasia and died out lastly in Asia and North America about 10,000 years ago so it was highly successful. It was a scimitar cat built like a modern lion that had about a 13” skull but much longer teeth called sabers. It was larger than average saber-tooth cat that was very successful yet hardly ever found in fossil records. Complete skeletons have only been found in Texas and of this animal complete skeletons in France and  Asia have never been found and only a few skulls .The sabers per head size are a little smaller than other the big cats. It preyed on wooly mammoths as found out in Texas. IT looks like a megantereon however much shorter sabers and less sized lower saber guard and sabers reached to end of lower jaw as this one does. It reached 1.1 meters at shoulder. As said compared to megantereon, smilodon, and machairodotus its sabers were wider than a meganeteon but mnot quite as long  but still they are nice sized sabers. It provided a great puncturing and gripping force . The skull was longer than smilodon. This jaw had down-turned forward flanges to protect the scimitars . It large canine teeth were crenulated and designed for slashing rather than purely stabbing . Some of the physical appearances were unusual for a big cat as it had limbs that gave the homotherium a hyena like appearance. The forelegs were elongated while hind legs were rather squat with feet planti-grade causing back to slope down towards a short tail. It had a large nasal square nasal opening like a cheetah which allowed quicker oxygen intake with brain visual cortex large and allowed it to hunt during the day instead of night like many cats. It lived 5 million years longer than megatereon. It hunted in packs and not only killed mammoths but also rhinoceros juveniles.

Geographical Area:  Possible Early Pleistocene

 Location: Origin   Euroasia

Item description & rating:   1-10   9.8 ON Rareness and Quality  X- Ultra RARE Beautiful  Adult Homotherium  Scimitar Saber-Tooth Cat Skull 13” that is so Beautiful with amazing spotted black, beige with brown .  It is amazing on quality . All teeth are original to this cat with only repairs. Its over 90% original closer to 95% estimated  with  a slight distortion which is typical . This is so rare-Ive had one on in 30 years . Keep in mind each tooth alone due to rareness is worth 2000, and sabers are fantastic all original and 3 9/16th” long and 1 ¼” inches wide(very wide for a cat). The sabers alone are worth 10,000 each at least.  The skull is highly original also well over 90% with upper great with some on zygos and palate . The sagittal crest almost always has worth resto but not this one. Lowers have a small section at very back restored and rest is all real and not even repaired on both sides . Now this is the only one that exists for sale to private collectors  known .  This was unprepped for 35 years in a very old collection, and I recently purchased it to prep after all these years . It comes on a nice heavy metal display for firmness and show. I have wanted a whole one for years and the opportunity was afforded from a friend who is also the top expert on these creatures, and this will be admired by me & ones who read this.  Only a small number were found in a Texas cave ,and 2 in Florida and a handful in China and Europe have been found .  I would say no more than 10 exist in the world and I’ve had 2 of them .So this is one of rarest cats in the world and you won’t see another one . I owned one years ago and sold it to a  friend 5 years ago.  The great thing about this species it is a form of crenatidens but a different unclassified species that needs researched even more so we can safely say only a few of this exist . AS someone who knows a little on cats(who wrote a  book on these cats) said the species is close to be Xenosmilus, but different so no species has been classified as of this date .Anyway so rare it is not a labeled known species as of yet so under crenatidans for now .  This just doesn’t come along so for true collectors of sabercats this section is a must .  The sabers are amazingly good ,.   You’ll love this one as I do if you know cats. These from these cats just aren’t available. This goes to some great collector who wants a one-of-a kind cat, and wants a high quality one . I would venture to say you will never see another. I’ve sold cats for 20 years and this is my second(did have a baby one though ) and I’ve gotten all I’ve seen .Id keep this but IM retiring so decided to sell my great collection .

No Where Else on Earth-Almost Totally Original Beautiful American Lion Skeleton(few lions )

Species : Panthera ATROX Lion Species Description : The American lion evolved from the earlier Panthera leo fossilis, which I have from Europe, and this skull is believed to be the best specimen ever found of an American Lion. It was believed to be 250,000 years ago when it first came to Alaska over Bering Strait with earlier lions as old as 500,000 years old even though only bits and pieces up to 350,000 years have been found. Also DNA shows this to be almost identical to Cave Lion so they are identical species just like Smilodon has 3 species all the same animal . There is Smilodon fatalis, Smilodon californicus , and Smilodon floridius all named by location nothing else as animal is the exact same. Its the same animal just like the main 2 species of prehistoric lion. This is the largest Lion with spealea that ever lived much larger than African Lions- with skulls up to 16-20 inches over 10-15% larger. It roamed in Alaska, California at La Brea, Canada, Mexico and Florida with traces in S Carolina. It is the largest carnivore ever except Short-face Bear which I also have a skull. All extinct lions now are not found except in Russia. In 2010 Alaskan Lions a few people believe were reclassified into spelaea, but almost know its American Lion. This one was found most probable in Yukon upon further examination which to all is American Lion. All Lions are identified by locations with Gir Forest Lions, African Lions, Extinct- Ivory Coast Barbiary Lions(1960), Russian Lions , and European Cave lions, and American Lions . I have had all of these-one of few people on earth to have had all species of Lion . From all fossils we know American Lion was much rarer than Smilodon when they lived and smarter . At La Brea only 5 lion skeletons exist , and hundreds of Smilodon skeletons found by government so no private collections exist except this lion. They have found atrox tracks in Missouri but no fossils found . WE do know Lion fossils first showed up in Africa 1.7 -1.4 million years ago then UK and Germany 680,000 (Spelae), and then they went to Asia much later to Beringa Lions in Russia then over Bering Strait to form American lions from Alaska to Mexico to Florida and S Carolina . So only ones left are ancestors much smaller than original African Lions. Those now probably migrated from Spelea in Europe much later 100,000 years ago to form lions of today. Some info is just not correct on lions as many other animals in google. Some people say American lions arose from one population in Canada Beringa Lions in Pleistocene from Russia, but these lions are the smallest lion ever so how did the largest Lion in America come from smallest when it’s right next door . American Lions were in Alaska were huge as you see this one here. There is no difference between American Lion and Spealea except American Lions was in North America which Alaska is a member USA. All who work with lions knows how valuable and rare this American Lion is. Geographic Period : Late Pleistocene Epoch 60,000- 10,000 Geographic time: 30,000 years ago Item Location : Gold Mine(Cave) Close to Border in Alaska next to Yukon and also FLORIDA a different species . This was very close to border either way and many more Gold Mines in Yukon . Northwest Of Skagway -Yukon border. No established towns there just mining camps according to original owner . 2 Alaska Lions are combined and 2 Florida Lions . Keep in mind La Brea specimens are hundreds of bones from different animals all put together as I confirmed that with them . Only 1 in a Wyoming museum is all one lion in the entire world This is next best in the world . Item rating and description : 1-10 *11 Words really don’t match how great, wonderful, awe inspiring, magnificent this American Lion is. It’s 11 ft 9 inches long and if tale wasn’t up it would be over 12 ft long. Its amazing 56 ” high also with 28” at widest . It is original bone from 4 Lion individuals almost all of which was in the Americas. Only the ribs, verts and 7-10 major larger bones were from Florida with most of the Feet being spelaea species. You see no feet have been found in the Americas for American Lion except La Brea from all known knowledge. After speaking to original owner of skull it appears the skull and many inner bones are from Alaska and close to Yukon Border .So few of these animals exist. Alaska, as American Lion was the original known species for many years until 2009 for all , since then some papers called it Europe Panthera Spelea species only in Alaska from a few specimens so it’s not set in stone according to another a lion expert as with myself know these as American LIons . To me even the notion American lion starts at border of Alaska and Yukon is ridiculous . It’s in the Americas its American Lion real simple. No one can say 1 mile separates it when all lions came 1 lion from Europe over Bering Strait anyway. Again to me and most others in the business it’s all American Lion anyway whether Alaska or not. Anyway keep in mind no more than maybe 6 skeletons exist in the world known with all but one from La Brea, and this is one of best and one-of-kind anyway. In Alaska and Yukon no known complete skeletons exist. I was in the Yukon and asked experts and no one knew of even one -skeleton. If they were there Miners are more interested in Gold than getting bones. These North American Bones were collected 25 years ago from a Gold miner .La Brea Tar pits have 5 but not one is from one animal but many put together from many lion bones. Mine all the verts and ribs are one animal, as well as 7-10 inner bones . The 17” skull is from one, and most of inner major bones except maybe 7-10 inner bones also from Florida are all from same lion also. Anyway the feet are from another lion(cave), which is the same DNA. So this is by far one of best American Lions in the world by far. The skull is 98 % original bone and according to many many top people in the field It’s maybe the best anywhere. The American Lion to be is the absolute height of the fossil world as I’d rather have that as it’s rarer than Smilodon material and I love saber-tooth cats. No one has this, not even the American natural History Museum as they have a half- skull only. I feel like the luckiest person in the world as I’ll enjoy for years. Skulls are unheard of and bones also. My best friend -a cat expert who does books, has all the sabercats, had only 1 skull from Alaska. The American lion skeleton is the most prized fossil in the world . Even the claws are huge modern lion as no American lion exists since it’s organic and this took a long time to get huge claws as well as some foot bones cave lion . Almost all the sheaths are all original sheaths from prehistoric lions with some some repaired with other lion species ( few modern)sheaths to make them whole. .It took me 10 years to gather 4 main animals to do this. A few substitutions had to be made due to availability, but almost all prehistoric lion. This one appears to be at least at least 30,000 years old on skull with others less . NO museum, no private collector known has a better complete skull as this is almost perfect . The teeth canines are all original teeth . A few were repaired. I searched the entire country for years to get the right skeleton with many wasted bones that didn’t work from American Lion . The measurements of all the bones matches a 17 “ female skull. The teeth were repaired and just 2 from other same size American Lion but all teeth are present. I don’t want to even find fault with this skull and skeleton because there is so little not original . It should be looked at whole as its so good. To my knowledge no other American Lion Complete Skeleton exists in private hands. The only ones known are 1 from a Wyoming Trapped Pit in a museum and 5 at LaBrea Tar Pits . This is 97% original bone least . Basically only the shoulder blades has any amount of restore at all with a little on the ribs & was done by the nation’s best prepper. He knows everything on skulls of cats also. Even a perfectionist can’t find fault with this. You would have to be an unhappy person to even try to find something wrong here. I only see beauty and you will too I’m sure. To me it’s the best ever found or best known. The originality is spectacular as you will never find more lion bone on any skeleton anywhere. I can’t believe it . Its too amazing I can’t describe the emotional feeling of ownership of this cat. It doesn’t get any better. IM so lucky. What preservation this cat shows. Darker color indicates age or location found so this is amazing as this is darker than cave lions. However what is normal as nothing compares to this anywhere .It will be in my collection for a long time even though I have many people would pay a fortune for this. Money is not important on an animal like this to be viewed over and over. You can’t even put a price on this as it’s priceless, but everything is for sale sometime maybe if a huge amount is offered in later years Ill relent. But that is years away. I tried to put words on this but this is undescribeable so look at pics. Simply Awesome. The pics are amazing. Its mine forever to look at. NO trying to buy it please You cant assign a value . Nothing was spared including huge costs to me to make this all Lion. In fact it costs me 15,000 for claws and Lion sheaths alone until right ones found for this animal -extremely rare due to huge size of claws just like an American lion-some partial lion claws were inside sheaths so those were kept intact also . So this is One-of-a Kind . It’s being stored at a warehouse in Maryland .There are again only a few in the World outside of LaBrea Tarpits and they are also from a variety of American Lions Displayed in jumping attacking position .  Plan on keeping many years as if your a fossil lover nothing beats this. This is the only Known American Lion in private hands -only a few skulls have been found outside La Brea (maybe 5 there also) Price: $489,333

Perfect 100% Original Entire Right Side 10”  Beringian Lion Lower Jaw w All Teeth & Canine

Species : Panthera leo vereshagini(extremely rare) few skulls know Beringian Lion or East Siberian Species Description: This species evolved from spleaea Panthera but it is extremely rare as no skeletons exist of this except now last summer 2 lions were discovered with hair and intact organs and entire skeleton . They actually have parts found in Alaska and western Canada, and that’s it. Various studies report varying sizes as some report it’s bigger than Spelaea and smaller than American lion, however most report smaller lions at 1.8 meters long with tails of 37 inches and height of 44 inches with weight of over 550 lbs which still is large . Mine is smaller than atrox by a lot, but while some skull differences of European Cave lion and American lion , the American Lion can be traced to this species. Actually DNA on Cave Lions is exact on all so all could be one species just found in different parts of the world . These migrated across the land bridge to USA in Alaska and Canada so it’s the only Lion to do so thus divergence into American Lion . In fact in early studies vereshagini is mentioned as American Lion Atrox . Skeletal remains are space with no full skulls found and only 2 baby lions in Russia known . These were found with hair, skin , organs due to all in permafrost . This is the rarest lion anywhere as I have a collection of rare older lions also . Geographic Period : Pleistocene Epoch 320,000 -12,000 years ago (Mine est at 30,000 ) Geographic time: 320,000 years ago -12,000 years ago Item Location : Yakutia-Eastern Siberia – Found in Clay profile of the Indigirka River Downstream(South) well into Siberia Item rating and description: 1-10 *10 plus * WOW For someone who can’t afford a whole skull -here is a chance to get an entire right side lower jaw of a lion from Russia . All teeth are original and nothing done to teeth including canine. It might appear to untrained eye the canine is not complete but the natural wear shows this was a lion that was old and damaged its canine in hitting bones while eating . It tells a story . The canine is all there and original , just a vicious lion eating sloppily its prey .The age has to be very very old for this animal Few of these are available anymore as American Lion jaws you can’t get anymore even though I have 2 of them . If you google it -it says no skeletons found just a few skulls but you have the chance to get a genuine lower jaw that is perfect. No resto no crack fills no nothing just a jaw for you skull. I have 2 skulls both worth over 20,000 . It has premolars molars and and even 1 incisors. The color indicates at least 30,000 years old . It was found in the river at a location that no others are known to be found at all. It’s so close to American Lion this needs studied or in a collection that will be honored forever as a one-of-a-kind piece . Remember this is close to Alaska and American Lion came from this lion across the Bering Straight . It is just a as big and looks identical to my American Lion Jaws . It is even rarer than the American Lion which I thought was impossible even though all are grouped together by many scientists . It never was broken. This is my only 1 now. ULTRA RARE EARLY HOPLOPHONEUS OREODONTIS SKULL 7.5 inch skull Approx 80%  Species: Beautiful Hoplophoneus Saber- Cat Skull oreodontis-First hoplo saber cat ever (2nd ever to Dinctis ) Species description: The long –legged Nimravid saber-tooth cat (one of largerone)with razor –sharp sabers and the second earliest saber-tooth cat that roamed North America beginning in the Oligocene Period 35 MYA -23 MYA . These animals had a lot of physical characteristics similar and exact to Smilodon including famous saber-guards and similar sabers while smaller . They stood at over 2 ft tall the size of a large bobcat, and were more of a group predator with a close knit families as evidenced by some hoplos found together in death while overall very rare species hunting an abundant food supply of grazing ungulates including camels and oreodonts. Using their highly developed saber-teeth they would likely sever the blood supply in the neck of their prey in the initial attack. Geological strata: LOWER BRULE Timeframe : 40-34MYA Item location: Shannon County , SD Item rating and description:1-10 10 on Rarity This is the 2nd sabertooth cat ever in the entire world as its a very early Hoplophoneous sabertooth. Sabertooths originalted here in USA and this was second only to Dinictis . Gorgeous 7 ½ ” Rarer Hoplophoneus- Early Cat Skull in Excellent Shape . Some people say this was combined into priveavus species but as a White River expert with others ts divided to another species it’s an amazing find This is actually not primaveus, and is a really rare oreodontis species that has top quality at approx 80% . The teeth are great on premolars but incisors and sabers are casts This is such a rare species I’ve only had one in 20 years before this. For a true collector this is a must skull . It was the early hoplo -the first ever in fact .This is an old cat and primeavus would be bigger . It was found in very early rock which lower Brule is. Repair on  cheeks , backs of both lowers and a few small spots own upper but top quality for such a rare skull . Even with sabers these never come around. All parts are one saber cat. My last one sold for a lot over 14,000 and this is better . Cat of USA are so hard to find anymore. Its almost impossible . If you read some articles many scientists have combined this into primeavus but the institute says this is definitely a different very rare species as they have only had a few of these in over 40 years , and its guaranteed a new rare species oreodontis so its –just too valuable .This wont be around again .This would go for $18.000 -20,000 if not for sabers so its a great chance to get a great skull fore the money Price : Hold David R

Beautiful Gorgeous Exceptional 7.5” Dincitis Sabertooth Cat Skull w Complete Saber & Part of Other

Beautiful Gorgeous Exceptional 7.5” Dinictis Saber-tooth Cat Skull with 1 Complete Saber& Tip of other Species: Dinictis Felina Saber- Cat Skull Species description: The long –legged dinictis with razor –sharp sabers was the smallest and the earliest saber-tooth cat that roamed North America beginning in the Eocene Period 45 MYA -23 MYA . They stood at least 2 ft tall with cheetah-like habits and diet, and were solitary predators hunting an abundant food supply of grazing ungulates including camels and oreodonts. Using their highly developed saber-teeth they would likely sever the blood supply in the neck of their prey in the initial attack. Most skulls were about 7.5 inches long. Geological strata: White River Formation Geological period: 40-35 MYA Item location: Shannon County, S Dakota Item rating and description: 1-10 9.5 This skull is so beautiful , and highly original . Its an early Dincitis which you can tell due to size of 7.5 inches and also location that I know well. The sabers are about 2” long which is normal above many this era. One saber is all there but the other has ½ inch of the tip real with the rest restored. I’d estimate 80-85% original, which for an Oligocene cat amazing . The skull is mighty fine also with approx. 85% original with resto on some of saggital crest plus backs of lowers. The teeth on upper are all real including the incisors and canine incisors . Again the teeth are highly original and hardly any repair on upper except part of one saber . On bottom the smaller incisors and 1 molar & 1 premolar are restored . This cat is great. Restored minimal areas including saggital crest, few spots on top , ½ of one zygo , and one back of lower . For those who do not know that is so minimal . It was expertly prepped and rest of skull is totally original. I’ve had only had a few better than this one and expect this to sell fast. I sell 6-8 per year last 10 years. While some cats only occasionally show up, this is still quite good . Few people have these to sell as I do . You just won’t find them so those still expecting perfection will wait years and years and never get one. This cat has most everything- beautiful color, most original teeth, great sabers, excellent originality of skull and it’s open mouth mounted. What is the most amazing on this cat it was no distortions. The shape is perfect. This occurs only 1 out of 20 cats so this is great . On all sides it works to display on nice display mount also. Most skulls were about 7.5 inches long Geological strata: White River Formation Geological period: 35-23 MYA Item location: Shannon County, S Dakota Item rating and description: 1-10 9.3 Highly Original (est 80%) Open Mouth Adult Dinictis 8” that has high quality bone with amazing dark color with one real saber on left side. The other is casted. Cats are the highest demand item in the fossil world as most everyone wants one so here it is at a great price. I’m not known as the Catman for nothing. Here is another one you can buy now. This is so attractive, and while found in same county it was a higher level or later time in Oligocene where cats grew larger. The Dinictis was the first sabercat on Earth. The size is above average on this cat. The sabers are 2.25”. For this time period sabers are average size. Any cat 75% or above on originality now is super because cats much rarer now due to fewer being found, and this time frame almost all mammal fossils that is about the best you can get anymore. This cat is so attractive. People love these darker cats as only 1 in 20 are dark due to color of soil in the area. Areas of restore and repair are the zygomatic arches, sagital crest, little on top of skull, all incisors, and 1 molar on side teeth. Rest are all real teeth. The lower jaw has the backs restored which is normal on almost all of them. One side has only a little at top. I’m the only one who gets cats from this area. The one saber is great, and other looks exactly like the real one. Cats are going now for so much because demand is high, and few are found. This open mouth mounted on an oak base (which can be stained if you wish) is appealing to me. This allows you to get a cat at a low price, as a friend offered it to me at a good price. This doesn’t occur any more. One with 2 sabers like this goes for 13,000 as you see some at site if you wish that.-It’s a hoplo. This is your opportunity for someone with not unlimited resources to get one -and the first sabercat at that. You can buy on time also- $1000 per month on layaway will do. Bone looks so good, so this is your chance. I haven’t had a nice Dinictis in a while-now I have 2 -but not for long, as I have 2 hoplos now with 2 sabers at site under sabercats. My prepper who did this one so well. This cat has everything- beautiful dark color, many original teeth, nice upper. Just feast your eyes on this. This price is a 4 year ago price. It can be shipped safely. here is your chance to get a reasonable priced cat to satisfy your dream . Values have gone up but not this one .
